I have a feeling my idea of "vaguely similar" is not the same as your's. These are what I'd consider "vaguely similar". The only thing they have in common with Monster High is that they are "dark fashion dolls" Mattel can't claim ownership of the idea of "dark fashion dolls" since it has been done before with things like Be-Goths and the earlier Midnight Dance Bratz. It wouldn't be worth the risk for Mattel after the mess they just got out of. The only time Mattel has a chance of something like this sticking is if it is a small mom and pop operation that can't afford to fight it even if they are in the right.

You didn't accuse me but I just wanted to be clear that I wasn't some kind of blind Monster High fan that thinks Mattel can do no wrong. I know they are far from perfect but then again the toy biz is not all fun and games at all. And yet it is all I want to do.

The art styles are almost identical as well. I was very confused at first and thought I was looking at actual MH stuff. Makes me wonder how different the actual dolls are.

Not a lot of information yet. There are a few pages on some trademark websites that imply that MGA is going to make a LOT of merchandise for these, and a higher quality picture of the logo, but that's about it.

And yeah, I think this is just going to be a spinoff of Bratz, probably one like Lil' Bratz, with completely different characters. (At least, I THINK Lil' Bratz had different characters... I didn't really collect them, so I don't remember.)

Gosh, they seem really similar from the pix. It's obvious they want to get in on the fad. I guess its just gping to depend on how close they are and if mattel will pursue it.

lol So they just look like a spin-off of the Masquerade line. Not teeeeeerrible but I'm not getting them. The one with red hair and red lips looks nice though.

I really like that one on the far right with the red hair! I may just have to get that one if they get released however judging how similar they are to monster high I would not be surprised if mattel sued before they ever hit stores
