I've got a sore throat, my Netflix login, and I'm ready to watch something to get in the spooky spirit. What are some movies that really get you feeling like it's 10/31?
Nightmare Before Christmas is an obvious one.
Coraline is pretty spooky, but I feel like it's a movie I can watch year-round.

If you like Nightmare Before Christmas
(personally my favourite film of all time lol) Then you'll enjoy Corpse Bride or Frankenweenie, another 2 of Tim Burton's films.
What about the Addams Family, that's fun to watch? :P
Not sure if they're on Netflix though, I don't use Netflix myself
Edit; I forgot about ParaNorman!
More movies I forgot about;
-Monster House
-Frankenstein (1931)
-Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
-
Ernest Scared Stupid is probably my favorite, somehow.
Garfield Halloween Special is fun too.
Hocus Pocus, of course is usually a must watch for the season.
Also, Practical Magic. I am currently reading the book it's based off for the first time.
On my watch list on Amazon right now is Child's Play and Pet Sematery, both which I haven't seen in years.

I love Halloween, but not the scary part of it. I like the more fantastical, magic side of the holiday. So I’d recommend nightmare before Christmas, the original hotel Transylvania (the sequels to me were kinda...meh.) and corpse bride. But growing up, the crown of Halloween movies was It’s the great pumpkin Charlie Brown. I liked the animation and the silliness of the film, even if I couldn’t quite understand what the characters were doing, like snoopy being his flying ace persona.
I can’t offer much by way of horror films, as I tend to steer clear of those. But one of my friends recently watched nightmare on elm street. I’m not sure if it myself, but she thinks it’s good. So I’ll just take her word for it.

I love Halloween and I love scary movies!
A really good movie I have always liked and really scared me when I was little is The Haunting. I'm talking about the original, really old one in black and white. It was made in 1963. There are no ghosts or monsters, but it's really spooky!
Other favorites of mine include:
The Shining (original and remake)
The Thing (original)
Pet Semetary
Saw
Poltergeist
Halloween
Nightmare on Elm Street
Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Dead (I like the remake)
Psycho
Insidious (and sequels)
VHS (Not sure how well known this is, but if you like scary stuff you should really check this out!)
And more I can't think of at the moment. XD
I saw The Nun recently, it was pretty good. Not the best horror movie ever, but it had it's scary moments, it's worth seeing.
A series, not a movie, but The Walking Dead is awesome. This time of year is a great time to binge watch it. I've only seen to the beginning of season 7 so far.
And for non-scary you can't beat Nightmare Before Christmas! All Tim Burton's stuff is good but that one's my favorite.

The worst witch in the world from the 1980's. The special effects are so bad but the story is good and It was my fav when I was a kid. It used to be on HBO every year..
