It is barely over but we all know we need another one, NOW! Or the 24th of February for example! Or better, the 31st of March!!!
So here we go. The date is set. Again.
I was thinking of doing a lunch meet, from 11:30 am to 5 pm or so, I would provide meet and dessert, and attendees could bring side dishes.
Side dishes ideas and suggestions:
Veggie trey
Potato salad
Fruit salad
Quinoa salad
Caprese (mozzarella with tomatoes)
Greens salad
Green Bean Casserole
Tater tot casserole
Drinks, I will provide water, coke, and ice tea, if you would like something different either let me know or feel free to bring it!
Valentine's boxes are going to be there, I will provide named bags of course for everyone to put their valentine for others.
I love the dice game, so I am afraid we are up for one of those. Please bring 2 pr 3 small items.
And of course the decorating contest, we won't miss this one. Please bring decorating material such as stickers, washi tape, chalk markers, etc to contribute to the prize for the winner.
Selling and Trading: the basement (which is also my pony room) will be dedicated to selling and trading. there is enough space for at least 5 medium/large tables. Please bring your own surfaces for you temporary shop.
One person asked if they could use the floor, I will make my best effort to provide a minimum of 1 desk worth of table space for who really cannot provide their own. My table space is very very limited, so be mindful that it will be available to who is incapable of bringing their own. I am sure when you will see my basement you will understand :biggrin:
Host pony is going to be Medley, make sure you bring yours so we can take the pony group pic.

Well, half of the frosting tips I ordered back in early November finally came today; hopefully the other half will come soon so I can completely close the dispute with the bank. Meanwhile, I will be going forward with my plan of making fancy cupcakes for our meets! Probably not as fancy/creative as Jocelyn's, but hopefully not just blobby things smeared with basic store-bought frosting like I normally do, either. ^.^ While cleaning I have also found a bunch of baking tools I forgot I bought, so those have now been put into my tub-o-baking, in the kitchen. I habe more motivation to clean--clean kitchen means baking, and baking means treats for everyone! :D (I miss my DnD group; I brought over desserts and got to play in my kitchen without eating waaayyy too much sugar all by myself.)

Tub-O-Baking! I have a drawer, and it is always in disarray.
My husband works on the weekend of 10-11, so that one is my least favorite option. Lincoln says he wants to stay home for the next pony meet, which is ok with me. I am already pretty distracted!

It seems it is going to be either the 17 or the 24, I have a feeling it is going to be the 24th...
But there is time to vote until first week of january so we shall see.
I am pretty sure we are going to do the dice game, the card swap in the baggies, and eat... other than the rest of the usual I still need to pick the hosting pony, which I think is going to be Medley.

Medley is a very good choice! Here is my Medley story!
My first pegasus was Firefly. I loved that pony. Then I took her to school, and she did not come home with me. I was heartbroken, and Medley was the pony mom got to fix my poor little heart. For years, until i got a new firefly, Glory and Medley were besties, but Medley always knew Glory's heart belonged to Firefly. When Firefly did return (i got a new one) Medley was surprised how much the two pegasi liked each other. They aren't the three muskateers, but Firefly has two best friends!

I typically work on Saturdays, but can request it off once the date's announced. So all options are equally as convenient :) I like Medley and think she is a good choice!

The 17th is no longer an option, for Christmas my husband bought us the tickets to go to the Ordway theater,.
I think it is going to end up being the 24th anyway.

Facebook is not really that awesome with notifications, I often have the same issue. If I find out how to make it work better I will post about it.

I am planning on bringing Foxfire, but not Lincoln. Grown-up day for Aurora!
I bought Valentines the other day, and I think I am making a little snack bag to include. I can probably convince Foxfire to make mints again, too.
I will happily bring a side dish, will decide what kind when we get closer. Do you need us to bring drinks?

How much space is there for setting up tables? I have my bigger table, or a normal card table. Is it more space than Ponyqueens? Less? About the same?

For table space I think I can have my table available for somebody to sell on it, and rest is going to have to bring their own. I think roughly we can fit 5 to 7 large tables in the basement, mine included.
By large I mean a table to sit 6 people comfortably to eat, which is what I have in the basement at the moment.
Side dishes are suggestions, more than anything, as long as people posts what they are bringing to avoid duplicates I amino with whatever.
My house is a split lvl, so the basement will be for selling, mid-low level for dice games etc, there is enough space that we can all sit in a circles the carpet, and even a couch. The main lvl has the kitchen, living room and dining room, so we can eat at the table.
If I had stools the counter of the kitchen can work as eating surface too, but I don't have any.

also what about valentine boxes? I don't know how many people will be able to make it, but that was my favorite thing to do in elementary was to make the valentine's box for the other students to put them in.

Last year we had plain white bags with the option to decorate, but not many people decorated. Do you have any amazing ideas for boxes?
I have some sturdy boxes, plenty for the meet, but they are patterned. Cute patterns, but still patterned. I could get some from work, but I would rather use these free ones.
I could give them a quick white paint job, which could be really neat-looking.

I have 5x5x5 inches white cubes boxes I can provide, they look like mini treasure chests a little, I think they are super easy to decorate and a decent size to contain stuff. I have a lot of them so we should be fine.
I even have white cupcake boxes with a cellophane window on them, those are even cuter, either ones I have plenty. Those last ones i mentioned are also 5x5x5 roughly.

I like to come please, sorry for not being super active...the start of the year my bf's dog passed away s I'm trying to comfort him...the last week mom and I put a beloved cat to sleep due to cancer..so I've been in a slump.. I'll be taking Mom and twisting kazzy arm to bring up there. I'm a evil person and I'll do my best to remember the host pony. Though she in my closet which I don't want to break into.....don't ask!

Hmmm. It might not be too bad! Dogs are on the least bad end of my allergies (although cats are on the high end). And I'm not sure about chinchillas since I've never been around them before. I might be able to last long enough for a meet at least. :D

cool!! we could have pompoms or ribbon, and have a decorating contest. nothing major, just something fun. I've got other crafty stuff I can bring. we can glue from the dollar store, or I can see if i can get scraps from work. (i work at a book bindery/print shop, and the hard cover department has "scrap" glue they throw out daily.) it can be lumpy, but should work fine for this.

I can be marked as "coming" now, assuming there aren't any crazy snowstorms right before then (Erick isn't too confident of a Minnesota driver yet, so inclement weather is tricky for us). After the last meet, I actually restarted working on a stuffed pony I started sewing in 2012, so I will have her to bring too :) There's a clear difference between what's old and what's new though, so she isn't perfect, lol.
Eta: I can also bring cupcakes again! And I have a Medley too, so I will also bring her along.

i found my way back to the Arena! hahaha. I will see what my calendar is like. I have plans a couple weeks before, so that could interfere with work to leave again for another weekend up in MN. I will confirm as it gets closer. BUT! I DID find Valentines so that will be a fun things to do if I can come. :)

I’m frustrated! My job switched the hours they are open in Saturday’s so now I have to work until 1:00 and most likely won’t be out until 1:30. I’m gonna see if I can switch shifts with the other new girl so I have the meet day off otherwise I won’t make it out until 2:30ish and I’ll miss so much!
I already picked up valentines :)

Yeah, I'm trying to be a bit more proactive about that. At least for a bit. I'm just glad they can be uploaded directly from the computer, instead of a hosting site. ^.^
Not quite sure what all I'm going to have for the dice game; possibly accessories, though I might make a couple more pendants. I think it'll depend on what I have time for; the classes I chose to fulfill my core requirements are kicking my free time (so much reading! :O ).

Blackfrost may not be able to make it - Peggy definitely won't. Peggy has bone spurs in her feet and they've gotten to the point that she has trouble walking, and tore one of her achilles tendons over the weekend. This on top of the cracked knee on the other side, so she's pretty much wheelchair-bound and staying at the hospital to let her tendon/knee heel - the house is not wheelchair accessable (doors are too narrow, for one thing). They're trying to convince the doctors to operate on the bone spurs while she's with them, and they're hemming and hawwing over the idea. No clue why, but Blackfrost is getting frustrated with them and Peggy just wants to go home, but she's stuck there for probably 4-6 weeks. :cry: Blackfrost will post here when she's able; she's trying to clean and see if they can get a wheelchair in the house despite the doorway issue.

Ok, I have six dice game prizes, 7 after Foxfire finishes her part of one. I am really really proud of the big one, and will probably make another because she is so awesome.
I am bringing some trays of mixed nuts for snacking. Do we have enough people signed up for food yet? Bianca, do you know what you are cooking and I can try to match the side dish?

How much variety do people like in their fruit salad? For example, are people ok with strawberry *and* kiwi (which basically taste the same, and I'm just using it as an example, since I don't even know if I can get kiwi right now)? If there's something you absolutely do not want in the fruit salad, please let me know in advance!
I will be bringing in some samples for a project I'm trying to move forward on this year, and I'd like opinions on selection. Trying to decide if I have time enough to make a Valentine's custom for the raffle table this meet (assuming there is a raffle, anyway); my online classes are proving difficult to keep up with (proabbly becuase some of the web sites I'm sent to have ads, which leads me to finding dresses I really like and cannot fit into :lol: ).

Sales and trades: there is space in the basement, I believe between 5 and 7 decent size tables can be set up, I only have one table so you are going to have to bring yours.
Food: I just finally decided what I am going to make, it is going to be meatballs in tomato sauce. I will provide at least one dessert and some candies. We don't have much for side dishes really. It would be nice to have at least 3 options (I consider wantons one of them, so 2 more)

Sales and trades: there is space in the basement, I believe between 5 and 7 decent size tables can be set up, I only have one table so you are going to have to bring yours.
Food: I just finally decided what I am going to make, it is going to be meatballs in tomato sauce. I will provide at least one dessert and some candies. We don't have much for side dishes really. It would be nice to have at least 3 options (I consider wantons one of them, so 2 more)

Food is not mandatory, those are suggestions to contribute to lunch.
We will do dice game and there will be valentines boxes for each of the attending members, plus Blackfrost and Ponyqueen. Time permitting, I would like the box decorating contest to happen, but it is going to be one winner, like the coloring contest, and I guess if you would like to contribute, I would recommend sheets of stickers, or washi tape, or things related to decorating (the coloring contest prize was a pile of coloring tools, it seems appropriate to me to keep up the themed tradition).

Okay so I've decided I'm still going to make it or something I'm having Kazzy still come down and we're going to tackle cleaning the house the best we can.. we've decided not to paint the kitchen just yet.. that means just washing walls and fixing two cabinet doors that refuse to stay shut... I swear to god I don't like waking up in the middle of the night walking into the kitchen to grab a drink and seeing a pair or eyes glaring from the very top of the cabinet's third shelf up O.O' Then jump down and run like oh crap she spotted us! My cats are such loving creatures... >.<' Aurora thank you for taking me home and sending me the message. Its nice to feel wanted and loved honestly. I will try to bring something cute for the dice game, I might not be able to bring anything food wise this time around hope its okay. Its going to be odd I've been spending most of my days up in St. Johns spending time with my mother while she sits in a wheelchair all day. Its boring I know for her but she needs to heal :( I'm trying to explain to her I need a few hours to clean the home and take care of our animals and she nearly seems like she about ready to cry cause I'm not coming up right away. :( She should only be there for 6 weeks hopefully we'll see what the doctors say on the 27th. I'm just very important to her cause well right now I'm the only one seeing her every single day... I'm stressed cause right now I'm dealing with the home, pets, her, and on top of that my brother move back into the house after he decided to leave his gf.. so yyyyyyyyyayyyyyyyyy........ so sorry for letting out on all this drama crap.. trying to explain whats up why I've been on the fence and all.. Yes, Erick will be coming! I would sure hope he is anyway, because he is my ride haha. He forgot to take Saturday off so his job did schedule him for that day, but he's going to try to have someone cover for him or, at the very least, take a half day. So there's a chance we may be late, coming around 1:00...But I do plan on bringing cupcakes again!

Not really, I just try my best for the cookies to not get too mushy. it is not the same if they do. It means I soak them in booze the least amount possible basically.

Maybe the first batch soaked just the perfect amount of time. However, my memory might be blurry. Between the busy-ness of the day and how exhausted i was by the time i ate it, plus this the first genuine tiramisu i had eaten... let's just say i might not have been at the top of my game anymore.
Do not take this to mean all the tiramisu since then has been less than awesome- it was just my first, and you know what they say.

Heated seats do indeed come with responsibilities. One of my dad's family's many, many vehicles has them, and I can name about 3 different occasions where somebody forgot to turn them off, so my rides were spent with my backside feeling very oddly warm and myself feeling very confused and worried LOL.

The weather is looking like a possible blizzard on Saturday. (Ok, that part might be good for everyone to know.) I am planning to go early in the morning on Saturday, so we shouldn't have snow issues then. If the weather gets bad, though, I do not want to drive through yet another blizzard. Bianca says we can stay, so plan accordingly. I am bringing an overnight bag and blanket, and we would leave in the morning.
That is my plan- if you absolutely positively have to be home on Saturday night, you might want to stay at home, or plan a ride with someone braver. I just simply don't want to be out in a blizzard!

The blizzard may complicate things for us here as well. Our little Kia gets very little clearance if there's snow on the ground, and this is Erick's first winter in MN so he's not too confident a driver in snowy conditions. If it's seeming like it'll be heavy, we may not be able to make it :( Was so sad to hear about this snowstorm over the radio!

I think that might be wise. I just got home from class, after the last text* was 'Frosty telling me about the blizzard, I used that as an excuse to leave early**, and I'm glad I did! It's coming down very hard, visibility stinks, it's hard to figure out where the stinking lines for each lane are, and I don't think I've had the "hey it's slippery!" light come on more often than just now.
I would also like to submit that postponing the meet might make it so Ponyqueen can attend, as well. ;)

the other two dates are holiday weekends and I will probably be at the church or out of town.
edit: double checked. the 31st is Easter weekend, so that's a no go for me. and my church might be celebrating a Easter with a community event on the 24th, but I'm not sure about that yet.

Badges sound awesome! Ponyqueen has made stickers with our avatars in the past, but it has been a little while! No worries, Queen, you have plenty on your plate!
If you make the pictures the right size for a 2-1/4 badgeaminit button, we can make buttons. You may want to google the right size, and thinner paper is better.
I also have badge holders, just the plastic things meant to hold a business card sized thing.
And my sister works at a school, so if you make drawings a little bigger than that, i have access to the laminator machine.
I can't art this, though! Not my circus!

With the name of the character (or person if they don't have a ponysona.......I guess not everybody does?) on it, while the image is laminated and a clip attached to fasten to a shirt or lanyard etc. So I suppose the end result will look a little something like this.

My mom has a laminator but I'm not great with scissors, so I'd be grateful if you'd do our laminating!
Or perhaps send me a pic of your badge holders and a coin next to it for size (I don't know what numberXnumber measurements look like)- I might be able to make something like that.
Kazzlelin- I can't really spontaneously plan events and also I'm scared of 2 MN furry ex friends so probably not.

I really like the idea of a larger badge, something about half the size of a normal piece of paper. Maybe the artists among us could split up the work? I am happy to take care of the laminating part, but no one wants me drawing anything. Foxfire and Bianca both have mad art skills, too, and Wizzer... actually, I am starting to think I might be the non-drawer in our group! Thank goodness for my sewing machine!
How long does it take to make one full character drawing? How would we decide who draws what characters? Is this what Neon feels like when he makes a poster, because this is sort of dizzying.
Can someone art some lineart, like an adoptable? Then we color our own?
I will chat with Foxfire tomorrow and see what she thinks.

Actually, line art and coloring probably sounds a lot easier. But how will we laminate it, or will we send out the lines in PMs or something and have people send the finished product to Aurora?

If we divide the drawings out between the artists of the group, I could volunteer to draw a few. I need to draw one for Erick, but would like to do some for a few other people as well. Here's an example of something I've done - my own ponysona :)

Sapphire, I think if we went with an adoptables style, I would take them home after the meet and bring them back to the next one. May 12th. My house, so at least I can't possibly forget them!

We will not let any harm come to you, I'm more then willing to be the body guard type. I've pulled this off before folks think I can kill them cause of my size.. I'm kinda like a softy really lols.. but very protective of friends.

Mine is my avatar. More of the sea green than the red in her hair and such, but you can't really mess her up. If she were alive, her symbol would move like the northern lights, not in conjunction with moods or anything, just always moving. Sometimes all green, sometimes with red and white, sometimes not there at all.

I just found out that the meet has moved to March. I would be tickled pink to attend. I have lupus and it’s hard for me to know how I will be feeling but I would like to try to come. Is that ok? I have stuff I would love to sell if there is interest.

So I have a box for things I must take to the meet. It is full of all the things I keep saying I will bring along, the dice game gifts, the dice, the coloring books, the show and tell, the buttons... and at the meet, I have to try to sort out all the weirdness in this box. Does anyone else do this?

I don’t have any particular wants, but I’m sure I’ll buy something. I have a bunch of mib equestrian girls and the big power ponies set. I would love to get rid of them. I think I have some other things too.

Ok, here is the plan. If you can draw, could you please do a lineart of some kind? If you can only do one, I suggest an earth pony- wings and horns can be added later. Print off 5-8 copies of that lineart and bring it along to the meet.
We can all choose the linearts we want to use and color/decorate our own badges at the meet! We will also have the Valentine boxes to decorate, so wear your crafty pants!
Everyone can do 2, I can laminate then 2-sided.
Then we will have at least started the great minnesota labelling!
Bianca says she has a copying device, too, so if you want to draw when you get there, we can roll with it.

We had a great time yesterday! Bianca, thank you for being such a wonderful host. Your home is lovely, your pony collection downstairs is so organized and beautiful (in addition to all your other amazing collections!) and Erick was very happy to talk video games with you. Aurora, I got the Medley plush from the dice game, and I love her! She is sitting proud in my pile of plushies. Thank you to Kazzelin and Nimrodel for the ponies we bought from you; you guys provided Erick his first two G3 ponies! Thank you to everyone else for a wonderful time :)
