I'm hearing impaired, and the only thing guaranteed to have subtitles is Netflix. Few tv shows and theatres offer subtitles. I'm not totally deaf so I can get away with it for the most part but it's tiring to do.

Hi all, I don't post here much but this was pony related and I'm in desperate need of some perspective/advice.
WARNING: CONTAINS DEATH.
Basically, I go on a walk every other day, and I usually walk around/past a large childrens' playground by a river. Often there's toys discarded, and I try put them somewhere kids can get them but they won't fall off, because I know how upset kids get when their toys go missing. If nobody re-claims them in a couple of days, I usually take them home, clean them up, and either keep them or donate them to charity. Sometimes they also run down the river when it overflows, as it does when it storms.
On Sunday, my friend said she saw a MLP in the area but it was stuck in a bush and she didn't have time to grab it out. I went down Tuesday (had a storm sun-mon) and she was there, in a bush like my friend said, a bit off my usual route. I pulled her out and she looked a bit sad - mud caked and whatnot, a lot like the ones that get pushed down by the river - but definitely too far up the bank to have come from that. I put her where I hoped she'd be found and decided to check again today.
Today, I came by, and she'd somehow ended up out of the bush on the other side of the path. I picked her up, rubbed her off as best I could, and kept walking.
On the way back, though...
I saw, maybe two metres from the pony's location, a grave marker. Basically some thick rope/ribbon on one of the young trees, with flowers all around it. The dates were a bit worn but clearly it was for a young kid, a couple of years ago. And judging by the flowers, it was well looked-after and also a girl. It was clearly not official, either, as there are official plaques all around and well marked on maps and this definitely wasn't one, it was very hidden and unmarked and amateur.
I felt absolutely guilty as hell. Again, this is off my usual route so I'd never seen it, but it seemed almost definite that the pony must have gone with this stuff. All of it had been there a while and wasn't well attached, but there was clearly fresh things there. So I cleaned the pony as best I could on the grass and tried wedging her into the next tree over.
I came away feeling deeply guilty and conflicted.
I don't know if the pony belongs there. I don't know anything about the girl - or boy, or whoever. I wish I could have cleaned it up more either way. But I'm also aware it's highly illegal to put graves, grave markers, or scatter remains in that area, because it's a playground in a nature reserve so could be dangerous on a lot of levels, not to mention there's no official person to take care of that stuff. I also have a relative with a chair we donated in her name in that park (hence knowing the laws about it,) and I've had people vandalise it so I know how taking the pony could have potentially broken someone heart - but only if it was supposed to be there in the first place, which again I don't know. And I can't ask anywhere, because drawing attention to it, could get the whole thing removed by the council and I'd hate to do that to someone.
I'm just feeling a bit messed up about it all. If anyone has any advice, or experience, or just some nice words, I could do with it right about now.

I'm waiting to see who answers "Checks - I use them all the time" because almost no-one here takes checks, including banks. My Nana tried to get a new checkbook recently and was refused!

No sure where this post belongs so I stuck it here. Had issues with it last time as pictures glitched. All of these are G3 (I think.) It's a mix of my childhood items, my sister's, and some that were given to me by friends. Sort of a giant post of images, sorry. If anyone knows who/what sets these go with, that would be great. If you've got pictures of them, that would be even more awesome. Just in case, the full album - https://imgur.com/a/ifZl9Could be two sets of two, or one set of four: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginSkirt? visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI suspect there's more of each shoe, but no idea where: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPillow may or may not have come with, but is hasbro either way: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginTeapot sadly discoloured (on other side.) Sealight looks so lovely - and impressive to still have her shell and comb, even with the missing ribbon. Wonderful, congrats!

Long time, no news! Been very busy with a new summer job (yay, 5am mornings...) but I snagged a So Soft North Star recently! She's my first so-soft, and to be honest, I thought she'd be in worse condition when I bought her, since there was only one not-so-nice, somewhat blurry photo focused on flocking loss. But she was only 5 NZD ($3.50 US) so I thought, why not take a chance? For context, most ponies I've seen here lately sell for a good 18 to 25 NZD, even when they've got pen marks all over them. I am a bit concerned as to whether I should try surface-wash her with a flannel or something, though I suspect it's more sun damage than actual dirt. Suggestions and ideas appreciated! Her hair is in fabulous condition, it's super soft, properly curled, and quite brightly purple. I'm quite sure it's original, or at least, it seem unlikely her previous owner would have replaced it given her condition otherwise. Her flocking fluff is still... well, fluffy? It's very discolored but feels lovely. Her cutie mark is basically non-existent at this point though, and she's got a mark on her muzzle. Her flocking definitely isn't as patchy as many I've seen, (and did I mention, it's fluffy?) It's missing on her ear tips, a little on her display wing tip and a little bit inside her hooves. (For real though, she's so soft! I kept petting her while I was supposed to be photographing her ... whoops.) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginMissing flocking: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginMore close ups: https://imgur.com/a/GdmaT

Oh, my freaking gosh! The fact that the ribbon is sill in plastic is just amazing. And they're all sooooo cute! Absolutely awesome score and wonderful of your cousin to gift them. And I'd be so freaked out about what they could be, you held it together very well!

I don't have a photo of my Whizz on my laptop and it is night here, so I will take one tomorrow for you if you want to see how it worked out for me?
If you can, that would be awesome! I am a little scared to really go in and do it just yet.

I can't deal with this adorableness! I'm going to end up with way too many of these, I just know it...
Here in NZ it also releases 2 November and the wait is killing me.

So, I know I posted baby Beachball just yesterday but ... I was out buying a new sweater and, "spoiler alert", I didn't buy a sweater, I bought Whizzer instead. She was only $2.50 (most ponies I've found recently have been $10+ and in worse condition) so I just HAD to get her! I've done a dry-cleaning just with some plain tissues, and she's already looking much better. I'm not sure if I should touch her mane, because it's still got a curl, but it's messy and her ears are quite dirty, and possibly moldy looking so I do want to give her a good proper wash at some point. Excuse my floor, it had the best light. Spring break is over and I had to leave my Childhood ponies behind, but not to worry, I've got an adorable new pony for my Adulthood Collection I now get to share! I've been trying to start up a Babies collection, so I was looking for a cute G1. Someone kept outbidding me by 10c in the minute a bunch of baby pony auctions closed but oh well, I'm super happy to have gotten Beachball in the end! Other than her horn, which as the previous owner said was a little chewed, she's in lovely condition. Just look at the adorable cheek blush! I'm also delighted at the complete lack of rust, all things considered.
