Can't remember if it was for ponies (probably for a job lot of vintage jewellery) but the item came in shot-gun cartridge boxes!

I am amazed that got through customs without being opened and tampered with. They're really hot at our borders about guns and ammunition and stuff like that because it's so tightly controlled and if the box says it's cartridges then you know they're going to want to check. Especially if it was jewellery in sizes that might look dodgy on the scanner...

This was actually a UK seller!

O.O.

I shouldn't really be shocked. I mean, where I live back home, they go shooting birds in the forest/game land that lies beyond the edge of our community, but I guess I just don't think about it so much in the UK.

I haven't had many horrible experiences thank goodness. The worst was plastic shopping bags used as packing. I hate that.
Funniest is this:

Sorry the picture is terrible. Her cute headress was meant to protect her earring. I very much appreciated the extra care taken but it was just so funny looking!

I use grocery bags as packing materials sometimes. They’re lightweight and fit nicely around items. I guess I don’t really consider it strange. I thought the idea was awesome after I got my first package shipped that way. I’m like why did I think of this before!?

Once I got a pony in a bubble mailer from Europe. The pony was fine... as was the still living maggot crawling across her face XD

A mother pony can be protective of her young just like dogs.

Omg, nope... nope... nope

I haven't anything close to that!
But I've had a pony that had been washed before shipping. So the seller put her in a plastic bag and then in the box, without waiting for it to dry first.
So, I got a icky pony in the mail xD

Tsk, customs screening isnt what it used to be. Illegal immigrants all over the shop ;) XD XD XD

That is truly gross. Also very odd given that there's not much for a maggot to eat on a plastic pony.
