It was just to show off the technicolor. I prefer the silver, too.

It was just to show off the technicolor. I prefer the silver, too.

This. The Wizard of Oz was one of the first films to really take advantage of technicolor and that's part of why it's such a crucial step in the history of film. But I digress. I would prefer the ruby pony shoes actually, just because I think the film is a little more recognizable, though the books are works of art on their own.

I never thought about the Technicolor point of view 
I just prefer the sliver over red any day, but I would be all out for buying shoes that came off in Red & Silver lol. The movie is more recognizable, most people don't know there was more than 15 books made for the wizard of oz. or even care to read any books vs. movies.
