Most of my collection has been in storage for close to 20 years. I am a secret collector with no one to share my pony love. Over the years I tried to keep a check off list of who I have, but admittedly I got lazy about keeping it up to date.
Recently I told someone here that I didn't have many ponies to trade, because I have very few doubles.
More recently, I decided to get out of Breyer collecting and thought I could trade Breyers for ponies. That's when I realized, Oops, I need to update my pony list.
So this past weekend and the past two nights, I have been working on unboxing my ponies so I can count and photograph everyone. I'm having to box up my Transformers and Breyers to have room to do this. I have filled eight shelves with ponies and I'm barely halfway through!
Now, the point of this post, guys, my ponies are multiplying! I don't remember having this many doubles!!! It's crazy!
All I can figure is that as lots came in and went into storage, I forgot who was already there. That or they are multiplying by pony magic!

I keep hoping mine will breed mail orders if I leave them in there for a very long time. I shall see what I pull out this year maybe I shall see someday. :D

What if allyour ponies are undergoing mitosis, aka cell division. What if they are splitting and making genetic copies?! Keep them! I need them for my IB bio studies to study pony cells!

The trouble with my doubles is they are not quite doubles, their expressions are different or their hair falls the other way, or they have some individual quirk and they don't look the same - so then they both get to stay......... yes, I'm talking about you Daddies Apple and Moonstones :) :)

Mine will probably stay too, as many are common and would probably be hard to sell.

I can relate. I counted nine different Cherries Jubilees when I was last home. Nine. And they are all different enough to stay. So yeah. Nine.
I am still working on sorting my ponies out. It was very easy to catalogue g2. G3 I keep pulling out of unexpected spaces. Like the back of my wardrobe. And inside my bookcase. And yeah. I thought I had about 50. Turns out it's more like 165.
Still, nice though - having a sea of ponies!

Nice, I went threw a big buying thing a few months back and ended up with three ponies the same, two ponies the same and so on! :(
