I chose theme park, specifically Disney World.  I've been there once before, but it was a long time ago, and my memories are vague.  And the Animal Kingdom park (sub-park?) didn't exist at that time, sadly. I want to go back so I can experience that park specifically, but also the rest of them.

Pony Corral / Posable ponies? (dream)
« on: October 27, 2015, 05:24:01 PM »
This is kind of random but...last night I had a dream that my ponies were fully pose-able...like...not with jointed plastic...the plastic itself was malleable. so they looked like themselves (Tex in particular was prominent in the dream, rearing up), with seamless plastic...just in different poses that I chose.  XDXD

These are cute!  But I should wait, since you already have 3.  Besides, I'm about to go on a trip anyway.  I should probably not even be looking at adopts right now. XD;

Aww man!  I wish I'd come back from my hiatus sooner...I saw one of these in someone's av, and have been looking for them because they are awesome.  Guess I'll just have to wait until it reopens...

A dream recorder would be fascinating! :) And potentially embarrassing. :blush:

This... So. Much. WANT.  My dreams are (usually) SUPER-entertaining, and some would make GREAT story-prompts, but sometimes I can't remember them...or remember them incorrectly or incompletely when I wake up... :/  (Unless it's the annoying ones where I'm constantly searching for something I can't seem to find or get to (usually a way home), or those ones that turn into a search for a bathroom. :blush: (those ones are usually trying to tell me something >_> I've...kinda trained myself to wake up when I start having one of those.))

Aside from that, I picked teleporter because then I wouldn't have to take the bus everywhere all the time and spend so much time waiting for them, arg; medical scanners, cuz they would be able to tell what exactly is going on when I have my dizzyness issues right off the bat, instead of going to doctor after doctor after doctor and stumping every single one of them.  And VR Holodecks because cool (and we seem to be headed in that direction anyway).

I want a replicator so I can replicate all the ponies!

Also seconding this. :P

Edit: GAH text wall.  I totally didn't mean to write so much. XD;

"No and never will"  I don't like pain. XD;  Also, they're too permanent.  I will occasionally get temporary airbrush tattoos or henna though.  But I wouldn't pay for a henna though...as I can do that myself (except that I don't know how to make the stuff)

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Thrift store jackpot! (Am I dreaming?)
« on: August 18, 2015, 11:09:44 PM »
Thanks! :D

There was a red baby there that I probably should have gotten instead of the purple one...cuz when I got home, I found out I already had the purple baby. Whoops. But there was something gross and brown on the bottom of the red baby's foot (it might have just been rust from the magnet, but...I didn't really want to find out if it was...something else.  :X )  I also skipped over another one because I thought I already had it...and when I got home, I found out I didn't.  Oops.  Oh well.  I thought I found a G1 there too...but it turned out to just be a fakie, so I didn't get it.

The pink peg with the starfish (I don't know many G3 names XD; ) has some blue gunk in her hair that I didn't notice until I got home. :(  I tried to wash it out...but it won't budge.  I may have to take another picture, cuz you can't see it at all in this one.

I'm gonna have to remember this place. :p

Pony Brag Arena / Thrift store jackpot! (Am I dreaming?)
« on: August 14, 2015, 03:32:05 PM »
I haven't been here in ages.  Anyway...

I found a thrift store jackpot of ponies!  I got 15 of them  :D  Had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.  (Cuz I HAVE had dreams like this. Many times. XD )  There was WAY more, but half of them were fakies, some of them were Generation 2 or 3.5 which I don't collect, and some were just too badly damaged to be worth the $2 they were asking.  But still...this is the kind of thing that I usually only find in my dreams! XD

Arts & Crafts Corral / Re: Is this cheating?

I have similar problems, but I just can't bring myself to trace, although one of my friends does it purely for learning how the other people do it, and then he draws his own stuff with the knowledge gained...i guess.  It seems to work for him, but I just can't bring myself to do it, having been brought up with the belief that tracing is wrong.

What I do instead is use references...RL, and photo (as long as the photo is either stock, or actually photographed BY me...some people get protective even of photos...so you have to make sure it's ok to use first.)  I can't say I'm the best, because I'm not, and recently I've realized I kinda have to go back to basics for a bit, but I'm getting there.

so, it kinda depends on who you ask, I guess. *shrug*  Not very helpful, I know, but...

Edit: Oh, forgot to mention...when I was first learning how to draw ponies, I would use the actual toys, and reference off of that, if that helps any.

And I also completely understand the 'not good at realistic' bit.  I was/am the same way, but RL and photo refs are still good, even for cartooning.  And don't get me started on 'conventional' drawing classes. >.> charcoal....UGH.

Also, wooden drawing figures...meh.  They don't have full range of motion, and you can't move the torso at all....it's constantly upright (at least mine is).  They could be helpful, but only for upright poses.  I have one.  I don't often use it. XD;

Also, some links I found helpful: http://fav.me/d5rsbof , http://fav.me/d5rtqyu , and conceptart.org, where artists will critique you for free.  Beware though...they can be harsh (*cough* and a certain one I met there seems to frown on cartoony styles *cough* >.>), and some of the sketchbooks there are NSFW.

Arts & Crafts Corral / Amethyst as a Mobian (anthro, crossover)
« on: January 12, 2013, 02:42:51 PM »
I don't think I've showed this here yet.  Anyway, this is my second Sonic-MLP crossover.  The first time, I was turning my Sonic FC into a pony...this time it's the other way around.  My MLP FC Amethyst as a Sonic character (and for any bronies that want to whine about her being a unipeg, she has been one since before there WERE unipegs in MLP. (since G1)  Anyway, just had to get that out there)

Anyway...whereas my Sonic FC was not at all happy about being turned into a pony, Amethyst is more confused about why she now has hands than anything else. XD  Random clothes are random.  Also, I love love LOVE how those wings came out. :D

Pony Corral / Re: Which G1 set would you most like to complete?
« on: January 05, 2013, 02:22:38 PM »
Hmm...toughie.  It was a toss-up between TE, TAF, and the Big Brothers and Baby Brothers (My herd needs more males)  But I went with TE's because I have a lot of them already (including Mimic), and I think I'm only missing a few.  But it's the same with the TAF's too, so...I dunno.

Great site!  I just discovered the identity of the two G3 ponies I recently acquired (although one (G3 Sweetiebelle) appears to be a combination of two versions of herself...the hairstyle ("core friend") of one version, and the symbol-style ('09 V-day) of the other O.o Odd.) The other is "core friend" Star Song. :)  They are so pretty.

I have to bookmark this wiki...very helpful.

Thank you [you] for all your help!

Ah...I see how it's done now...I was wondering why my name kept popping up in people's posts...I must say it makes for much hilarity when reading through the thread...you're just minding your own business, and then suddenly...random compliment time! XD  I was all... "Wait...what...how are they doing that?" :lmao:

As for the original question...It would have to be a toss up between Baby Sparkle North Star and Firefly.  I have always liked Baby Sparkle North Star...But...Firefly is just the epitome of awesome.

But...there are so...many...others...that are also lovely...Like Sugarberry.  And all the Sparkles in general.  And Wind Whistler (gotta love the way she talks XD)   And...you get the idea...XP

Pony Corral / Re: Gender-neutrality @ Harrod's
« on: August 13, 2012, 03:18:15 PM »
If they get rid of gender sections in toy stores, maybe next they can work on getting rid of the massive amount of pink. I mean, there's nothing wrong with pink. It's my favorite color, actually. But pretty much every girl toy is either completely pink, or has some pink on it somewhere. When I was a kid, I didn't like pink, I liked blue so it made me go for boys toys more than girls. And it's sad to see how much more pink there is now than there was in the 80s. Just look at the MLP line. Almost every single pony either is pink, or has pink somewhere on them, be it their hair, cutie mark or eyes. It's crazy. And yet, the pink ones are usually the last ones to sell. Everytime I go to the pony aisle, even when the others are wiped out, I can always find lots of Pinkie Pie, Twinkleshine, Cupcake, Lulu Luck, Cherry Pie, etc. Then there's all the pink Celestias that never seem to sell. I wish they'd get a hint. Not every girl loves pink, and even if they do, they don't want everything to be pink.

I second this. I'm not opposed to pink, but it's not my favorite color (that would be purple, but that's not the point), and the fact that girl toys are so completely saturated with pink is just...ugh.  Any color can be too overbearing if it's used too much.

I haven't recently gone down the toy isles or into toy stores, mainly because I don't have any discretionary income to spend on such things (including ponies) right now, but I agree that if the 'girl' isle has too much pink, it can be headache-inducing.

As a kid, I was into both "girl" toys, and some "boy" type toys.  I had ponies of course (and other horse-related toys...that's the majority of what my toys were...I was definitely equine crazy. XP), plushies (of which I still have most of them...I may have too many plushies XD; ) but I also had a few cars and things.  I had a model-backhoe, (I have no idea why, but...) plastic dinosaurs, a whole lot of plastic animal models (which I used to make zoos with my blocks for). I also used to build and shoot model rockets with my dad.

I had dolls, but wasn't really very interested in them.  I eventually gave my barbies to my mom, and now SHE collects them. XD

But yeah...I was kinda all across the board as far as toys went.  I still have a lot of them...currently most of them are at my parents' place (except my ponies...they stay with ME. XP ) because I don't have room for them right now.

Pony Corral / Re: Weirdest factory errors you've seen?
« on: August 13, 2012, 01:59:23 PM »
I think the only factory error I ever found was a G3 with a smudged eye (from the birthstone set).  I was kinda annoyed about that, but I kept her anyway.
