brazil twist variant? OK = now about other variants...
« on: July 02, 2016, 11:54:01 AM »
OK this is why I am finding it sooooo dang hard to trim my herd (well to be honest, I am dealing with a very selfish inner child at times but thankfully I have a helpful family who would rather be out riding these days, so I am getting there!)

so here's the deal = I started giving myself the excuse about why I needed to keep doubles since they were different somehow = variants = and now I wonder, is it just fading hair?

The one twist seems to have more a bright orange hair and tail than the other one.  The (what I call) "normal" one matches in hair to the ribbon stripe of red pony hair.  Neither match sugarberry's red.  So to anyone who has a brazil twist, is it just a later production run maybe?  I found my doubles of baby gusty have different numbers stamped on them (think that was my excuse for keeping both... ugh, OCD at times) and it would make sense given how there are US variations that are just that, ponies made a second or third or forth time

anyhow let me know if you think it's just my old eyes

I believe the brighter orange is the "normal" one. If you decide to sell the darker hair one I'd be really interested in her :)

Ooo I have both versions of Brazil twist too! My dark haired one barely has a tail though unfortunately but they are different.

yah I am thinking like I said that same as US they were made from different runs... the one with bright orange has 45-08 on the neck and the darker red has 45-21 stamped

Ice_gypsy, do your ponies have the same neck stamp numbers by any chance?

I really do love the deep purple used :-)

:) I believe the more orange hair is the "normal" version of Twist.

I know that Brazil Paradise has hair that is a close match "Sunburst"/"Rice Crispy Baby" red hair, rather than neon red hair of Hong Kong Paradise.

How does rehaired Twist compare with those ponies (if you have them to compare with)? :)

sorry for the  poor quality but yes, I would agree this seems the closest match :-) cool

lemme go grab mr sunburst ... uno momento

Post Merge: July 03, 2016, 02:57:37 PM

hmmm... it's close

sunburst to me is a deeper red and closer to krispy baby than twist, but it's close

and she's not a rehair that I know of = she has the brazil double loop tail clamp and weave to her head

seems like just they (estrella)  used the red the same as their brazil paradise, the same as brazil ribbon stripe for this one :-)

 I meant red haired not rehaired, I was watching the European Cup as I was posting and got distracted. I don't think she was a rehair at all, not even a factory rehair. She was made that way :bigups:

On looking at the pictures you've posted of Twist with Sunburst and Cripsy, I can confirm that she has Brazil Paradise hair rather than her "regular" hair :) The red isn't a spot on match in colour or texture, but close enough to give an idea.

I wonder how many other Twists are the same and have the different hair? It's one to looks out for. It's a subtle difference and one you'd only spot if you had two ponies to compare :)

This why I have three Brazil Starshines and two Mexican Starshines.... You get the picture ;)

Well done for spotting this MCM :green:

oh my... not feeling it's well done, more at the root of my issue as to why I find it hard to let go of "doubles" ... ah well, it's all good and I am glad these guys are getting rehomed to fellow pony lovers here

so, speaking of more variants

about argentina novia now

I have a pearly painted one  and a non-painted, both have tinsel = anybody know if the pearly paint was for a reason??  did argentina copy the US pearly line (like with sea ponies) with another release of novia or was she just sold as the bride pony?

My Twist has orange hair, and she's off the card mint.  The woman I bought her from decarded her herself.  I'll get some pics.

I will trade a custom plushie for a red-haired variant now, lol!  :)

I've heard  that there are 2 versions of Brazil Twist, rust red hair and bright red hair. I have both too.
Nirvana grails:  Reverse Gusty (upgrade), Peru Windy and Moonstone (upgrade), Brazil TAF upgrades, Argie Powder w/ white hair (upgrade), French Windy and Moondancer (upgrades), Spain TAF's, TE's, and piggies.  These are my biggest wants, but I'm looking for tons more nirvanas, especially Greeks, Brazilians, and Peruvians.  Feel free to PM me for sales or trades.  But please note that I'm also fairly picky.

Looks like I'm late to the party! I didn't know about Twist. Thinking back I do remember seeing a darker shade, but thought it was lighting or something :P

I've just seen her as a bride pony :)

I think there are three versions, regular, pearly and painted white and pearly :) all have tinsel in their manes and tails.

I think she deserves her own thread :)

yah I agree... just my penchant for creating family groups of MLP variants became suddenly (well over 8 years) I have a herd in the thousands  and having to rotate who is in a box and who is on a shelf and that wasn't the reason I started to build a bit of a rainbow in my office space all those years ago with the excuse of the fun I would have teaching my kids geography by getting mail from the world over and showing them how we are all just children at heart who enjoy time spent playing with family and friends

so yah, my extra became a mega amount of doubles to be mom and dad and aunt and twin sister and siblings (always an excuse) and don't even get me started how I deflocked the US to pair up with the UK version or just have one deflock and one regular  and multiple babies just to have an all one color family like here:

sorry non-nirvana spam... just love yellow  ^.^  but... the extras are over-running the shelf space so it's time to make some room here
