I already got started!   I'm going to use this G3 Fluttershy as my bait. I find the pose generic enough for different kinds of themes.

Usually I'm very particular about the pose I'm picking, it has to have the right feel to it, and I totally understand everyone who prefers to wait until we know more about the theme. I sort of like this idea of an additional challenge, though, starting to work before knowing all the details, so I'm probably going to start painting the base as soon as the colour votes are in.

Yes, I get that some poses just feel right. It would kind of fun to have a pose poll but I didn't want to limit any generation or fakies. I was going through my baits earlier just to see what I had. I'm running out of G1 that don't already have a plan (unless I want to deflock or fix a couple BnG). G1 bait lots are getting harder to find and when they do pop up they get too expensive. I hope HQG1C makes more poses and blank ponies.

It's been some time since I last prepped baits. I'd totally forgotten how much of a pain it is to rip out G3 pony hair. Luckily my bait was already half prepped so the hair was the only thing I needed to do. But now my hands ache and I managed to stab myself with the pliers (Well, graze, to be less hyperbolic, but I did draw blood, haha. Looking forward to sweat and tears before this custom is completed! )

Looking at the polls made me think of a tie. If that's the case instead of running more polls I'll just stick the options in a random number gen and do it that way.

Okay I already have some questions We have three body colours, how is that going to work? Let's say the secondary markings poll will give us a simple marking like a blaze or a hoof heart - that's two colours. Are we required to use all three, or can we choose? And if all three are required, can we do additional markings not voted on (like use one colour for body, one for the chosen markings, and one for something additional like eyeshadow, freckles etc.)

I was thinking that yes, you are required to use all three. It doesn't matter how you use them. So yes, using a color for something like eyeshadow is okay. But remember there is the body color, symbol, and secondary marking, so you can use three colors for that too.

Hmmm this is shaping up to be a challenge! Even though I voted for orange it is throwing me slightly with the other colors selected!

I sketched up an idea of what I might make tonight to play with the colors. I used the symbol/theme/marking that is currently leading the next batch of polls right now, so I may have to go back to the drawing board, but I’m actually pretty thrilled with what I have so far! The only thing is I thought one of the hair colors was blue instead of purple, but since it’s close enough I think the design will still work with the switch!
