The only problem with reverse gustys.. Yes they can be faked to a point where one cant tell the difference. ckat has told us this much in this post.
The only way is to have ckat confirm based on glue testing. Since babydolls doesn't have glue in the mane I am not sure what ckat would need to do to verify authenticity.

I was lucky enough to get my money back from this notorious scammer. I still have the pony, she is amazingly well done.

Here's how she did it:

I think she took a UK NSS Gusty head and put it on a US Gusty body. Reverse Gusty has green eyes, only found on the UK NSS version, yet she has glittery symbols thus needing the US version. She flawlessly rehaired the pony! The only way I determined she was truly a fake was by analytically comparing glue samples thet were used to fully secure the mane to Hasbro MLP. She used a different glue than Hasbro, and was unlucky enough to sell this pony to a chemist!

I dont think it had to be a head body swap for the customised ones...after all Scandinavian Gusty has glitter symbols but the Movie Stars releases eye colour [only a minor shade or 2 of a difference]. So in theory could they not have been re haired Scandinavian Gusties [not sure of the plural for multiple Gusty]?

My Gusty's head was glued when I got her, I popped it open to take pics inside so Kcat could test the glue on the neck, if she is a rehair two different types of glue would have been used. Im also hoping she will come and post pics.

ember are you sure yours is fake? what is her provenance, if you know it? that would be the biggest clue.

All i remember is that I got her from an ebay auction 8 years back. Here are the photos again.
Her mane weave looks a lot messier and her mane length looks longer than than the original from brickhaven.
Also the green stripe is just as long as the red and in brickhavens it is slightly shorter.
