I've been hearing that Transformers are being cheaply produced and overpriced too. I stopped buying a couple years ago myself, so I don't know. Sounds like hasbro is just doing this all around now. Unsure of the quality with their Joes and LPS lines, if still around?
I think BasicFun! took over the main LPS line but may be mistaken. I kind of hope Hasbro hands off the next gen of MLP to them as well. I'd love to see BasicFun! run wild with the line if the quality is as good as the retros (nylon hair, etc.). Hopefully they'd even be brave enough to go the "gotta collect 'em all route" as opposed to releasing the same 5/6 characters ad nauseam.

It is my understanding the single row manes were in the first batch released under the Kenner brand.
Would it have the Kenner stamping on the foot? Because I have Petal Blossom, both are stamped with 1997 Hasbro Inc with one having the single row of hair and one having the two rows
I also recall asking something about this years ago in the community and the answer I got was that this was a common thing among Gen 2 ponies, and that likely the rows deal was because how hard the plastic is so the machine didn't quite like all of them (who knows). I would say we need to look at later releases that were in the UK since in the US Gen 2 stopped in 1998, to see if this same thing happened with those ponies.
Hi there! They all had Hasbro stamped on their feet. Kenner was just on the back of the box. The very first wave (Sky Skimmer, Petal Blossom, Clever Clover, Berry Bright, Morning Glory, Ivy, and Sundance) hit stores in Nov/Dec 1997. These had a single row with Kenner on the back of the box. The stock refresh that spring had a slight packaging change -- Hasbro was on the back of the box, and file cards were updated with corrected colors. The original Sky Skimmer file card showed her as completely pink and Petal Blossom was yellow with pink hair. Anyway, the ponies in the updated packaging had double rows. All of the adult Euro G2s in my collection have double rows. I think some (maybe all) of the babies had single. I do not have access to them at the moment to look. Just a warning -- this is from my own experience collecting as a tween in the US. I am not sure how things fell in other places.

The animation doesn't look bad at all. Hopefully it is just the angle, but the toys (specifically the brushable) look too piggy. They kind of look like Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families pigs with different eyes. lol! I like the G2 body, but not sure about the heads... I was hoping for something more horsey.

They seem pretty fakie-ish, but I'll accept anything at this point that has a lower jaw and brushable hair... I'm already bracing myself for disappointment... I don't even care about the show/media. *cries*

Why, Hasbro, why?

Spoiler Wait... Was Grogar seriously a big waste of time?? I was really hoping for Tambelon part two! Twilight as lone ruler irks me a bit. I was hoping the rest of the six would become "princesses" as well. I feel like each character is equally deserving. They all have some really big flaws (and never learn from their mistakes) and truly need each other to make well-rounded rulers. Guess I shouldn't complain. I only watched the season opener and bits of the episodes that leaked today (in another language). lol!

That is beyond bizarre... G3 can't be retro!?! How old am I? Feels like I just purchased these girls new... not sure if I need to do so again... I kind of hope these are not BF unless they get the whole DPCI issue sorted... If this set has the same item number as the 80s retros, I fear Target will have trouble getting everything on the shelf.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HYPE!!!!!! Confetti is one of my most wanted ponies!!!! I love this set much better than the other rainbows, I might have to buy them all this time, haha.
Same! I've been holding out for a nice Confetti for years! lol! The year three rainbows did not age well--or at least the ones I have didn't! Re-releasing them is fantastic!

Aaaaaaa, how do you get their manes to look so good? I flatironed all of mine and barely made any progress.
Curling iron and hand lotion! I have a tutorial on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUL3JfdseZYI think the HQG1C's have the same hair as the newer G4s... or at least it works the same for me.
