Pony Corral / Pink marks on G1 Ponies

Hello everyone :wave:

I got a beautiful Sweet Clover recently but she has a few pink marks on her body that didn’t come off after normal cleaning.
I read on a restauration page that these pink marks could be highlighter or also fungus! So, how is it possible to tell apart?
And any tips of getting rid of them? I don’t want to sun fade her because of her fading pink hair.

I am not really into adult seaponies so I don’t have an idea of how much they are worth right now.
Could anybody tell me what price Italian Seaspray with her shell (suction cup missing) and brush and comb would be fair?

Also, do you keep the tail weight? Or do you take it out and replace it? With what? It’s my first time cleaning an adult seapony so any advice would be awesome :)

Pony Corral / Hair is falling apart…

Hello everyone :)

I just got a Fairy Tails bird in the Mail and started to wash her enthusiastically with warm water and mild soap as I always do with new ponies or birds…and just as I started to detangle the tail the hair just fell apart :blink: I mean it just fall into tiniest pieces of hair in my hands.
Does anyone ever had this before? I never had problems with washing pony hair? Water wasn’t hot and soap was the same one I used on tons of ponies before…
She definitely needs a rehair for her tail now  :lol:

Pony Corral / Getting yellow plastic bubbles clear again?

Has anyone ever heard of a method to get a yellowed plastic bubble or front from a MIB pony to get clear again without destroying the original Packaging? I have no problem with sunfaded cardbacks or card boxes with MIBs but the yellowing is a bit odd  :lol:
Any ideas?

does anyone ever tried to sunfade a G1 Sparkle Pony?
I am curious because I have MO Star Hopper who turned into a darker green very similar to the store version. The discoloration is a match with head to body so it doesn’t look that bad. But I was wondering if the sparkling vinyl would turn into its original color in the sun, too ^.^
Any experience would be appreciated :)

Hello Pony peeps,

I am wondering what is it that causes this sticky feeling that some G1s get after the years?
I had a part of my collection stored in a cardboard box in my Appartement for a few years and now some ponies got that sticky feeling on the plastic :blink: no discoloration or anything else..they just feel sticky. But just some not all of them.
What is it? And what can I do to prevent or to get it away?
Any ideas please? :(

I would like to introduce myself again because I am back again in the pony world :heart:
I was quiet active years ago then went silent and started a little start again two years ago…
But for now, I really hope to stay longer again here!  :blush:

What can I say about me? Well, I am a G1 pony collector :lol: from Germany and definitely am an accessory nerd!
My favorites are the Princesses and all flutter and wingers!

Pony Corral / Princess Ponies and Variants

Hello Pony peeps :hiya:

it’s been a while that I posted here but I am again getting into the pony spirit and just got through my collection and of course I went through my favorite set, the Princess Ponies :heart:
When I started collecting I had no idea that there are differences with their hoof prints and that the German variants have the Pat Pend scratched out! I think back then when I started this wasn’t known.
Now I looked under all the hooves of my princesses and found out I have a few Germans here! Who wonders because I live in Germany  :sheepish:
I kept a second Serena next to my collection one, I always wondered why she still has such bright pink hair and now I am sure she is the German variant with the bubblegum pink hair because she has the scratched out Pat Pend.
My Sparkle also has the scratched out Pat Pend, also my Starburst, but both have the normal hair color.
So…I am getting into these different releases and variants and are totally not sure what to do with these. I normally don’t collect variants just want my ponies in lovely condition.
Does it make sense to sell them? Or just keep them? Are there people outside who collect these?

I was wondering if there is a good website that helps to identify ribbons?
I just found a deep blue pony ribbon and would love to know to who it belongs? :wonder: I know one belongs to Dancing Butterflies because my childhood one still wears hers. But is there another pony with that ribbon color?

Pony Corral / MO Napper MIP...should I free her? ...and maybe Price Check, please?

Hello Ponies,

I just restarted my interest in ponies and my collection of G1 Ponies and found my MO Napper mint in her package. I normally didn’t collect MiBs or MIPS because I love to touch my ponies :grouphug: but I also love them in the newest condition possible and complete with their accessories. I think that was why I bought her..
Now I really need to hold me back not to open her package...
I know that her value will be lower after opening..but how much would it be?
I have no idea in pricing at the moment....
Any ideas what her price is right now out of the package and MIP?
Would it be crazy to free her?
