Cute!

Before I left this morning I pet my kitten. She always loves rough head pets, she likes it when I shake her around

I haven't watched Smurfs for years but was desperate the other day trying to get some sleep and started watching them on TV. That led to finding this on Youtube from The Smurfs and the Magic Flute

My mother loves smurfs. I always get her a little figure when I see them in thrift stores

Last night, I left my door open. Ravioli came in and crawled her way inside my bedframe. (I have one with drawers for my clothes.)
Then, as I was working on props for my LPS series, she came wriggling out of my scrap fabric drawer and scared the crap out of me. It was really funny, she just showed up in the middle of my room!

She is a little

That's the version I grew up with!  I bought it on DVD and it's the UK dub, which I didn't know existed, so Peewit's name is William and Johann is John and it just isn't the same.

Here's another version with a bunch of different languages put together.

I'm not sure where my copy of The Smurfs and the Magic Flute is, but I'm pretty sure it was Peewit and Johann in the version I had too. There's another version on Youtube where Johann is called John until they meet the Smurfs and then it switches to Johann for the rest of the movie.

Also, Ryan's Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" performance from the Oscars last night.

I was never much of a Smurfs fan, not sure why.

I haven't seen the Barbie movie yet. There's a lot of good movies I want to watch.

My smile - I got new shoes that actually fit my feet! :frolic: My right foot is always really swollen, and I can't get it in my old shoe. So I looked for sandals with adjustable straps and found a nice pair of Sketchers on Amazon. I ordered a half size up from my usual and in wide. They came today and they fit perfectly! I can finally go out of the house again :P

Bummer, that video is not available here. I think I'm gonna stream the oscars on my next day off so hopefully I can watch it then.

Yaaay for shoes that fit!

Ravioli was the first to greet me this morning, she likes to climb up on my pants.
I hate to admit this, but she was my least favorite of the gaggle for a while. (We have 5 cats.) She was just annoying me when we first took her home. But, Mom wanted to take her so I didn't have much of a choice.

BC, I love the feeling of new shoes  :P

Another good thing! The government stopped the program I was in for internet from lack of funding, and at the same time my contract was up, so my bill shot up from only 25 bucks a month to 91

I called Comcast and asked if there was a deal or something I could get on that would lower the cost. She found a deal which doubles my internet speed and gives me Xumo, a streaming service I've never tried. It's a 12 month contract but it lessons my bill to 55, which is more manageable.

I never watched Smurfs as a kid, so I never would have thought there'd be an English and a US English dub. We had a ton of shows when I was a kid imported neat from the US. I remember them changing some of the stuff in the turtles (hero not ninja for example)...but generally we had a lot of US TV in US English. I only remember English dubs for things that originated in France or Canada. Then we did have it dubbed.

I looked up the Smurfs and apparently it's Belgian, so maybe that's why. Wow. Back in the days they bothered to invest in two dubs rather than just assuming American English is close enough and will do...xD

Some happy things today.

I changed the seed in the feeder and watched two pigeons use it for a double-date xD

I touched base with a friend with whom I'd had a misunderstanding and we're all good now :)

Also, rainbows. :D

I'm glad it worked. :D  I'm not in to watching the Oscars during the broadcast (I look up the winners online.)  I had to look up the "I'm Just Ken" performance.

Since we've been talking about Smurfs, I  went on Youtube to look at the UK dub of The Smurfs and the Magic Flute.  Not only are Peewit and Johann's names changed, a lot of the dialogue is different too.  For example, the wizard tells Peewit and Johann they were "gone so long" when they wake up.  In the UK dub, he says he was worried because they were "gone for 3 days." The songs aren't the same either.  It's interesting how different the US and UK dub are.

I love that it stays light longer now since the US in on Daylight Savings Time.  I don't like it being dark at 7 am though.
