Pony Brag Arena / Re: Best thrift store find I've ever had!
« on: September 20, 2016, 06:25:53 AM »
Much congrats! It's so encouraging to see G1s still in the wild, and in such good condition!

That's what I thought too! It had been so long since I'd seen anything G1 in the wild I was starting to wonder if it might be just G3/G4 stuff now. Such a boost of hope that they're still out there!

Thanks so much all for the congrats! I'm thinking several will be for sale or trade eventually. The giant newborn is way cooler in person than she was seeing pics online but I still think she's going to be for sale or trade. Baby Northstar and TAF Milky Way we're both on my wish list so I'm super stoked to add those to my collection!

Pony Brag Arena / Best thrift store find I've ever had!

I took the opportunity today while my kids were at school and I had a day off from work to go pony hunting. Now that I'm working a ton I don't get to go out looking for ponies like I used to. I was SO excited to score a Soft Sleepy Newborn Sweet Dreams at the first place I checked! Then at my local goodwill outlet I found a whole bag full of ponies, accessories, and random play set pieces! My hands were shaking I was so excited. Silly, I know! I've just never found so much G1 stuff at once!  Also super excited that overall the ponies just need a spa day and they're all going to be beautiful. No big flaws at all! Makes me want to go out and keep hunting!

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / LPS Jewel Pets Price Check
« on: September 12, 2016, 10:34:14 AM »
Picked this up at a thrift store today while looking for ponies. (Didn't find any ponies unfortunately!) It's super cute and I love little bird figures, and have several, but I don't really collect lps. Anyone have an idea of value on this? If she has some value I'd probably sell or trade her but if not I'd be happy to open her and keep her for myself!

Thanks for any info!  :)

Off Topic / Re: Question for SAHMs and back to school
« on: September 03, 2016, 05:18:03 PM »
I work now but I was a SAHM for 15 years. I always had a hard time with that question! For me, it felt like the minute I dropped them off it was go time and I tried to get as much done as I could until it was time to pick them up. Honestly, the only friends that really got it were the other SAHM's. It was always so rare to have a day "just for me".

Off Topic / Re: What pet names/nick names for boys?
« on: August 16, 2016, 07:10:59 PM »
I've called two of my five nephews "little man". One of them is still a baby so he's still my little man  ^.^ and one is 13 now and I just call him a special nickname of his name, which is what most of the family calls him too. My other nephews I've always called variations of their actual names. Starting from when they were teeny and still do now, even though they're 21, 18, and 16.  :) Luckily they don't seem to mind!

Off Topic / Re: Home Made Laundry Soap and Dishwasher Soap?
« on: August 16, 2016, 06:59:24 PM »
I've always wanted to try to make my own laundry soap but I'm worried it won't get my clothes clean enough. I have had good luck with homemade dishwasher soap. I've used a tablespoon or so of baking soda in the little door and a bit of vinegar where the jet dry would normally go. Sometimes I add a tiny bit of dish soap with the baking soda but not always. I might just have a good dishwasher but this has always worked really well for me.  :) I've also made my own multi purpose cleaner from soaking some orange peel in a large mason jar of vinegar for a couple of weeks, straining it, and putting it in a spray bottle. It works really well and the citrus helps cut through the harsh vinegar smell!

I love seeing everyone's pets! Currently I have all I can handle in my one very large and grumpy tabby cat named Ivy. We call her Merv because that's what it sounds like she's saying most of the time. She's four years old and we adopted her from our local humane society when she was two. She was a stray and hid A LOT when she first came home. She still does when she gets scared. But now she's become the boss of the house and we love her.   :inlove:

These are so cute! I adopted your Windy for my avatar. I'd love to see a G1 Flutterbye in that adorable Pegasus pose!

These are all so cute!

If you're still doing these I'd LOVE to have a G1 rainbow pony Flutterbye!  ^.^

So adorable! Which ones were childhood ponies

None of them were.  :) I collected ponies about 10 years ago for several years but sold off most of my collection and I've caught the bug again! I'm so enjoying building a new collection! I am planning on adding my favorite childhood ponies too. When I was little I had most of the rainbow ponies so those are at the top of my wish list! Flutterbye is on her way and I have Parasol and Skydancer. I'm looking forward to having them all together again!

Pony Brag Arena / Rebuilding My Collection. First group of new ponies!
« on: August 07, 2016, 07:18:24 AM »
I'm so excited to be collecting again! These are the bunch that arrived in the last few weeks. None of them are mint but all of them are wonderful! Gusty was a pony I really wanted when I was collecting so many years ago but never got so she was especially exciting.

Off Topic / Re: Who Else Is Excited For Fall/Autumn?
« on: August 02, 2016, 05:33:41 PM »
Fall is for sure my favorite season and I'm so ready for it to be here! The breezy, overcast weather is such a relief from the sun! I love the changing seasons. Watching the trees change color and all of the seasonal vegetables coming in are two of my favorite things. I'm also a big fan of Halloween! So excited this year in particular to take my girls to Halloweentown again, and we got tickets to meet Marnie this year!

Off Topic / Re: Are you a night owl or a morning person?
« on: August 02, 2016, 03:03:22 PM »
I am totally a morning person! I work at 4 am so I can get off early to pick up my kids from school. I've always been a morning person though. I get grouchy if I don't get to bed at a normal time!

My husband is the opposite though! He works swing shift and goes to bed around 2:30 when I'm waking up for work! He's always been much better at staying up late but it's really hard for him to get up before 9 or 10 in the morning.
