MLP Nirvana / Re: Princess Sundance
« on: January 15, 2019, 04:54:59 PM »
I'm really late to the party (I'm having an ME flare up, and we're in the middle of having the kitchen done, so I've not been here for a few weeks),".

My princess is currently in storage, but when I can get at her again, hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'll post pics of her tail, which I have now discovered is loose enough to remove.

We should meet up at ponycon and do them a reunion portrait :)

Wow, having seen that old thread I now understand why people have been so sceptical about my Princess in the past.

Pkw took some photos at Ponycon, I am going to try to get some decent photos of her, but I am a technical idiot when it comes to putting pics up here, so I might have to send them to someone else to put up once I have them.

Sorry it's taken so long to respond, Ponycon really wiped me out - I've been sleeping 18-20 hours a day ever since it.

I have decided to keep Princess Sundance, and since she looks so shocked (that pony has seen *things*)  I have renamed her in my mind as Princess Brando/Princess Kurtz after The Col. in Apocalypse Now.

MLP Nirvana / PC request on variant princesses and Piggy Minty

Hi,

Please help!

I'm afraid my camera is no longer talking to my computer, but I have 3 ponies I need ballpark PCs on for Ponycon!
(Yes, I do hope to have enough money from sales after Ponycon to get a new camera)

I have:

Variant Princess Aquamarine/Serena (no tinsel in tail):

She is overall very good condition, her hair is still decently pink, and she has her non-glittery hat with non-glittery ribbons in, but no elastic in the hat.

Variant Princess Sundance (Princess Pearl's head, Sundance's body, full length forelock and Taffeta style thin tail):

Quite a few people have seen her at Ponycon, and both PKW and Taffeta have verified her as fitting all the signs of being a legit variant.  I believe there may have been one going round a few years ago, this is the one I got in 2013 (I think) in a toy box lot and posted about at the time.

I think she is the only one currently known in the community.

I have my own price in mind, but would appreciate what people think value wise as I have an interested potential buyer already. Also, if anyone else is interested in her, let me know and I will try to borrow a camera for pics.

Piggy Minty (golden hair):

Nice body and paints,  mohawk and tail cut to floor length.

Thanks for any help you can give :)

Ali.

MLP Nirvana / Re: Freezing ponies? Do they cope? (Moth problems)
« on: June 27, 2017, 12:47:14 PM »
Thanks!

I tested both Peachy and Tutti Frutti for squeeziness after they had defrosted and they seemed to have no problems, other than this weird colour thing with TF's symbol, but that may have already been there (although i don't think so).

I'm a bit paranoid about freezing any nirvanas due to different plastic types, but if I do have to do any, I will make notes on the outcome.  Hopefully I have caught everything now.  It is getting like Fort Knox in my pony room.

I have only ever had trouble with 2 ponies actually having hair nibbled through, not the ones I froze, but Gypsy and Whirly, both of whom already had slightly faded hair, and were still dirty.  Normally the moths eat the dirt off organic fibres, but incidentally bite through the actual fibres.  The pony hair gummed them up and killed them, but the damage was done.

Hiya,

I have a bit of a specialist question here.

I have recently had a problem with clothes moths, and a couple of my ponies have been affected by them nibbling their manes.  I am not willing to use any insecticide chemicals on the ponies.

I know that freezing fabric for 24 hours in a sealed bag in the freezer works fine to kill moths, eggs and larvae.  I have also tested it on a (HK) Peachy and a (HK) Tutti Frutti, both of which were structurally fine afterwards, although Tutti Frutti's orange dye may have blackened a little.  Does anyone have any experience of freezing ponies, especially the non HK or China ponies?

I have a lot of Nirvanas I have frantically bagged and am watching like a hawk to make sure they are not affected.

Thankfully none of my stock ponies (all of which were already bagged) have shown any signs of infestation, if any did, they would be pulled from my stock immediately and permanently.

Thanks for any input you have on this,

Ali.

Pony Corral / Diamond Mint water cutie variant?
« on: April 26, 2017, 09:15:29 AM »
Hi Everypony,

I just got an interesting pony in a lot.  I didn't notice until I got her in my hands, but my new Diamond Mint has a colourless head.  Her paints and mane are the same as my standard blue water cutie Diamond Mint.

Is this particularly unusual? I would appreciate peoples' opinions.

Link to the pic below, as I appear to be terminally unable to get pics to upload direct to posts (sorry).

Pony Corral / Re: strange boxed pony on ebay, do you know it?
« on: April 05, 2016, 02:19:00 PM »
Wow, I was at his shop in early March, I handled what I believe to be this pony (as opposed to another Butterscotch they have bought since) out of her packaging and had a chat with the guy working on the stall (who was not the stall owner).

He was very friendly but didn't know a lot about them.

The Butterscotch I handled was a HK standard issue gymkana pony in this box, with light symbol fading and cute but home printed packaging.  She was up for £22 at the time.

Edit to add:  The packaging was similar to what you would get around a bath gift set or the like, with a semicircular tab to reclose it on the base.

I've put an album up of these girls:

http://s1172.photobucket.com/user/Ginger_Blossom/library/G1%20international%20ponies%20-%20sales?sort=3&page=1

I have given them a gentle wipe down and have given Skydancer a (slightly tentative) shake and it looks like over half of her glue is still holding. All the others seem to be in pretty good shape, with some of them having tiny bits of glue drying out and giving up in a small area.

Parasol and Sunlight are darker versions of their HK counterparts.

Thanks again for the PCs!

Hi,

I have a few lovely MOC Greek Rainbow Ponies who are looking for new homes and would really appreciate PCs as I intend to take them to Ponycon this weekend.

Some of the cards are a bit warped, all of them are dusty, and some of the glue is failing.

As some of them seem to be making a bit of a bid for freedom (Skydancer especially has almost no functional glue left on her bubble, and Starshine has a little crack in the bubble under her feet) I would really appreciate loose PCs as well, in case any of them break free during transit.

I have:
(White) Skydancer
Starshine
Parasol
Sunlight
Windy
Moonstone

I apologise for the lack of pics, my camera is charging and I will try to get some up tonight.

All of the cards are very dusty, is there any specific way I should try to clean these except "very carefully, with a barely damp cloth"?

Thank you!

Ooo, thank you, will do!

Hi,

I have decided the time has finally come to sell my Sylvanian Families collection (bought in the late 80s/early 90s) - I love them, but they need to go somewhere they won't just sit in a box anymore.

The majority is MIB (but has been taken out of the box occasionally to look at), a lot is furniture and there are some MIB characters.

As there are over 40 photos I'm putting up a link to photobucket rather than spam here, and any help at all would be appreciated, even if it is just for a few items!

http://s1172.photobucket.com/user/Ginger_Blossom/library/Non%20MLP%20toy%20sales?sort=3&page=1

I also have (but haven't photo'd as they are in storage boxes):

The Village/Country Bus (missing the starter handle)
The Village Store with about half it's accessories (boxed)
The Canal Boat (complete)
The Stables (appears to be complete with 2 horses)
The 3 story cream coloured mansion (shell only)
The windmill (almost complete)

I appreciate that this is a lot of stuff, and would be very grateful for any help you could give me!
