Title: Child's First 100 Words from the 80's
Post by: Dragonflitter on November 01, 2021, 01:50:51 PM
I saw this at work today and I was amused so I had to take a picture!

There's a trend in children's books these days to appeal to parents' nostalgia, so you see a bunch of baby books with characters from great 80's movies like Goonies, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride and more. Here's a little display we set up at work:

And what's this? Oh, there's a book to teach a child their first 100 Words ...from the 80's. XD And what is right on the cover? PONY! What a great word for a child to learn! lol.

And Fran Drescher and Sabrina and Jenny's number

Who are the four boys supposed to be with the map? Stand By Me? Was that an 80s movie?

edit: Whoops. I know how to post.

It could be Stand By Me; that came out in 1986, but I think it's supposed to be the Goonies.

Those books are awesome, BTW! And how fun!

I vote Goonies because it looks like a pirate map.  I don't think the kids in Stand By Me had a map (but it's been so long since I saw any part of that movie that I could easily be wrong about that).

I think it is! It would be been more obvious if they were in a convertible, though!
