As a kid I always loved the 80’s television show and the characters personalities in the tv show and movie really stuck with me. So sometimes I didn’t fully understand the pose they gave the pony.
For example: Sweetstuff is shy, why is she not in the Apple Jack Shy Pose.
Here are a few ponies I wish had different poses:
Surprise: Medley Pose
Shady: Apple Jack Pose
Bowtie: Truly Pose (I know it didn’t exist then but would be perfect)
Gusty: mimic Pose
Sweetstuff: Tic Tac Toe or Applejack pose
Fizzy: Mimic Pose
Whizzer: Medley Pose
Sundance: Truly Pose
Posey: Crumpet Pose
Powder: Gusty Pose
Cherries Jubilee: (ponies with this pose always looked like “moms” to me) Crumpet or Tic Tac Toe pose
Curious to see which ponies you think should have different poses

I’m not a huge fan of the following poses:
Shady pose
Ribbon pose
Moondancer pose
So most if not all ponies in those poses I wish were in other poses! How gorgeous would ribbon be in the gusty pose?! And shady in the bow tie pose?!

Two of my favorite poses, Tootsie and Gingerbread, aren't very well liked by most people, so I am bias to those two.
I would definitely change Moondancer. That pose just looks blobish. Maybe to Dancing Butterflies pose?

I would love to have Wind Whistler in the North Star pose or the Dancing Butterflies pose, it would also be nice if her Brazilian version in the Surprise pose was more available.

Baby Starflower-Wish she'd been on the Baby Tic-Tac-Toe pose
Waterfire-Wish she was on the Valenshy pose
Seaspray-Wish she was on the Fizzy Pop pose
Alphabittle-Wish she was on the Gem Blossom pose
Sapphire Joy-Wish she re-released on the RMS Applejack pose
Lucky Clover-He'd look great as a big brother
Pegasus:
Sky Dancer-Wish she was on the Paradise pose
Merry May, Bubble Muffin, Songbird Serenade-Wish they were re-released on the RMS Rainbowdash pose
Unipegs:
Luna, Celestia, Sterling- Wish they were re-released on the RMS Twilight Sparkle pose
G5s-Wish they were all on Retro Mane Six poses

Oh wow, Surprise in the Medley pose is the best idea I've heard all day!
I guess I'd like to see the original collector pose ponies in some other poses. And G3 Moondancer in a more active pose. I do like her pose, but if they had released her character more than once...

I would have loved to see some of the early G4 brushables re-released later on as G4 reboot posed ponies.
I also love the Pineapple Paradise pose and would have loved to see that one utilized more! Autumn Skye would be fun in a different pose.

Always thought it was weird that Skywishes was only released in the diva pose!

I love G3 Waterfire's colors, but her neck is stretched way too far around. I think she'd be cool in donkey pose or rearing pose, though I love my custom G1 Waterfire in sitting pose.

Bride Pony: Truly pose (with her veil it might be very pretty)
Powder: Glory pose
Skydancer: Dancing Butterflies pose
Windsong: Cloud Puff pose

Starsong, Sweetiebelle, Toola Roola II, & all the rarer Ponies in Clone Pose. I Customised those first three & Twinkle Hope out of that pose (the latter is a unicorn because of her name & symbols), & when I have loot will likely commission Peaqcock & Egyptian Pony in alternative poses too

I wish Skyflier and Powder were in any other pose than the one they're in because I really don't care for that pose. Glory pose, Fizzy pose, Mimic pose...those are some of my favorite unicorn poses.

All the ponies in the Mimic and Powder Pose to be evenly split into either Gusty or Buttons Pose (Glory Pose has too many)
All ponies in Firefly and Dancing Butterflies Pose to be evenly split into either Surprise, Lofty, or Whizzer Pose.

I really would love Moondancer, Glory and Majesty in Gusty's pose... <3

Change the collector pose ponies to literally any other pose. As a child it was very frustrating not being able to get my two favorite ponies to stand which in turn meant they were used less when me and my friends played ponies.
Same with Baby North Star though being a baby pony got him more use than poor Snuzzle and Minty.

Just realized... I like Whizzer and I like her pose, but I wish she was in a different pose. Maybe I just don't like that pose/twinkle eye combo? I love the pose for Bouncy and Best Wishes. Huh.

I gave my ponies their personalities long before any pony media existed (or at least before I had ever had the opportunity to watch it!), so my sister and I formulated their personalities to match what the toys looked like.
Tootsie was a 'mom' pony because as the OP said, her pose looked like a mom pose. She was also a teacher for the baby ponies.
Our Posey was probably the most charismatic pony in our herd; he was actually a very flamboyant, outspoken boy pony and was married to Lickety Split, who was a vain, dramatic clothing-shop owner (kind of like a Rarity personality, now that I think about it!). Their confident, striding pose made us think they would have big personalities.
Blossom was a disappointment to me. I got her from the mail order so my Baby Blossom would have a mom, but her pose was so boring and depressed-looking that she became kind of an Eeyore pony.
Surprise was the main one that I really wished had a different pose. A pony named 'Surprise' really should have been more dynamic-looking, I thought, and even without knowing her TV personality yet, I was irritated that she looked so demure. She became a mom pony, but a rather flighty, unintelligent one, and everyone felt sorry for poor Baby Surprise because she would do embarrassing things.
When I eventually did watch the movie and TV show, I remember being annoyed that some of the ponies' personalities were so incongruous with mine, but also confirmed my thoughts that Surprise really should have been in a different pose, like Firefly/Medley's.

Any in the Moondancer pose.

Any g3 with the art pony pose. Have always disliked it and the poses on those ponies could be more creative it also makes their bodies look longer. Also any pose similar to it I would change.

Now that I've thought about it, all the ponies in the Gingerbread pose. :P

I'd change the MLP Tales ponies to baby pony molds. They're definitely not adults in the show, they're always having middle school drama.
I'd also change Sugar Sweet's pose. I think the Moondancer pose looks great on Moondancer and Sunbeam, but weird on Sugar Sweet.

I actually really dislike the sitting pose - it meant I couldn't play pretend Bubbles and Seashell could compete in my gymkhana games when I was a kid.
So I have to make customs of each - one in a collectors pose and one in a Posey pose, and to make them extra special I am planning to give them tinsel in their hair and glitter symbols, and maybe even make them a baby each to match!
I also dislike the Moondancer pose, makes the pony's silhouette really naff and because of that I am actively not looking for Moondancer bait for customs. Although Sunbeam does look better - wondering if it's because she's blue and not white?

To me, she kind of reminds me of a Akhal Teke horse, or an Arab

I wish every G3 that has the donkey pose had a different pose. A number of my favorites have that pose - Candy Cane, Jazz Matazz, Minty, etc.

Also really don't like the G3 donkey pose but it seems like most ponies released in donkey were also released in nicer poses. Piccolo in her first release has such nice colours but the pose ruins her a bit :sad:

I've also thought of another - the "daddies" from the Berrytown, Meadowsweet and and Sunbright families were in Gingerbread pose - which I've always thought was a bit naff. They really should have been in proper "Boy" poses in my opinion

I can't think of anything specific, but I really really wish they'd more ponies in the G1 sitting pose.

My least favorite poses are probably the Moondancer, Medley, and G3 donkey poses so I'd change everyone made in those poses.
