In May of 2018, I was working on a custom carry case for Megan and Sundance, inspired by the official Carry Case and the Collector's case. The body would be of cardboard and the liners/partitions would be made from cut-up milk bottles.

This second pic marks my progress as of my last update on May 29, 2018. I actually finished the case structurally not too long after. I held off posting an update because at the time I wanted to wait until I had decorated the outside (which I still haven't done). And up until yesterday I managed to completely space that I never did get around to posting a pic of the structurally-complete case.

I now rectify that error.
That same spring, I had laid in a stock of milk bottles to do a Collector's Case for the Flutter Ponies (minus Hollywood)... and never got around to acting on it until now.

Currently working on the cardboard structure. Will soon be able to install the dividers.

Interesting

Thanks!
I used cut-up milk bottles because they're made of a neutral plastic and thus safe. The rubber flaps on the edges are to seal the case against dust when closed.
I also discovered that I didn't have as big a stock of milk bottles as I thought, I'm 5 short of what I need for the Flutter case. Oops! To the store!

What is it with flutter ponies and plastic bottles?

Here's where construction stands until I get a few more bottles.

Nice work on the structures, I love that you added the drawer for ponywear in Megan and Sundance's case! Looking forward to the finished results ^.^
-
Thanks!
And yeah, the drawer was a feature of the Collector's Case that I simply had to replicate after seeing - it's a very useful idea!
The Flutter Ponies' case will also have a drawer, or possibly 2 side by side. I think it's even more important for them, because it gives a space to stow the wings.

So far so good. Can't wait to see these finished & painted xxx

Progress on the Flutter case at last!

Accrued enough bottles to finish the compartments...

Which meant I could at last install the inner "deck" that will serve as the roof of the drawer.

FINALLY finished the drawer. It should have been done last Saturday, but between trial and error with the fit, and interruptions like somewhat abruptly switching phones on Sunday and schoolwork... It wasn't done until after midnight yesterday (so technically the wee hours of today).
Now the only thing left to do structurally is the rubber dust-guard strips.
-
Welp, it's structurally complete now.

The dust guards have been fitted, the ponies tucked away within...

...and the case put away on the shelf over the foot of my bed.

Wow, this is creative and amazing! I love how you labeled all the Flutter Ponies' spots!

Is your Megan wearing a custom outfit from Midnight Castle?

Good work!

Gosh, thanks all of you!
I confess that I have yet to get around to decorating these. I also realized I didn't share a somewhat embarrassing after-the-fact discover here.
I also discovered that I didn't have as big a stock of milk bottles as I thought, I'm 5 short of what I need for the Flutter case. Oops! To the store!
Remember this?
...Turns out I did have the big stock of milk bottles after all, I'd just spectacularly failed to find them and didn't discover that until after completing the case.  :dizzy:
