I used to say "symbol," but I really like the phrase "Cutie Mark." :3 I tend to use it only when discussing G3/G4 ponies, though, or I find that other collectors are confused/displeased.

I played with My Little Pony as a child, but I only owned two of them. I don't remember them being toys I was particularly interested in. I mean, I loved playing with them at friends' houses, but I didn't pick them when given the opportunity to select my own toys or make birthday gift wishlists.

I started collecting them in 2003 when G3 was released. I spotted one on the shelf at a Toys 'R Us and instantly went:

It coincided nicely with me being a teenager who had just gotten a job--I actually had spending money but very little in terms of obligations, so I started buying them. At first my family was like, "Haha, she's indulging in a funny little quirk," but then I was researching and tracking new releases. At that point I was a "collector." (I dabbled in older generations, but I really prefer buying a new pony in a store as opposed to online/garage sales/vintage shops/etc.)

I've had to pause how active I am at different times, depending on my financial situation (a lot has changed since 2003!), but I still really feel something about My Little Pony toys that I don't feel about other collectibles.

These are my grandparents' cats. ♥ Matilda is on the left and Willow is on the right. My grandmother adopted them a number of years ago when she was undergoing cancer treatment. She really enjoyed their company while she was ill. She died a few years ago, so they are now my grandfather's beloved cats.

Matilda does not enjoy strangers or company, so she's usually not seen by visitors. Willow is very friendly and loves attention. They're both very sweet. ♥ I love them!

Newborn Baby Ponies and Windy/Summer Wing Ponies are my favourites. I really love their body shapes! The newborn baby ponies have really cute facial expressions and I like their proportions. I prefer the proportions of the windy/summer wing ponies to the flutter ponies; there's something about their tininess that I prefer.

Wow, that's really nice. :) It must be neat to be able to see and choose them in store before stuffing rather than relying on the website selecting one.

I'm so glad that her toys are now white, as well. That really bothered me when they were first releasing Celestia toys. I think her hair colours look nicer against a white body.

The way you updated Rainbow Dash's boots is excellent! I love your attention to detail.

I took advantage of this sale last weekend, and it was absolutely worth it. Saving 25% on the Build a Bear Workshop ponies really adds up.
