She's one of my absolute favourites. My best friend had heard for YEARS that I wanted the Birthday pony on my birthday, and, well, what do you know! On my 20th I unwrapped a pristine version of birthday pony! Turns out she'd spent ages trying to find the perfect one that still had all her tinsel. Birthday pony sits on my desk to this day. She's become a very sentimental one, and one I don't think I'd ever get rid of.

I'm seeing Arctic Monkeys again in May. I'm not sure how excited I am, their last concert was my favourite I've ever been to and I don't think this one will quite be able to match the absolute energy of that one! After that I've got Fall Out Boy, which I am SO excited for! I am going to Glasgow and my best friend and I have a hotel booked too, we're making a trip of it. We went to a Fall Out Boy signing today, which was really good! I also might be seeing Rare Americans at the end of April, I've not decided yet.
I'd love to see Pearl Jam, they're my favourite band - I have a Pearl Jam tattoo. I'd also LOVE to see Foo Fighters.

I presented at a conference on Friday - my first ever conference! It was one managed by the department, as a way to get us thinking about our Master's dissertations. The person arranging it put me as the FINAL speaker; it was a two day event, and I was really worried about not being able to engage people, or people switching off during my topic.
The absolute opposite happened! It went really, really well. We did some peer feedback, and I got one from one of my peers telling me that it was one of her favourite papers of the entire conference! Which made me feel really good about it.
My dissertation supervisor told me she could see it published - I'm researching an area of local history that's not really been studied at length before. And that was crazy to hear too. It just feels like everything academically is going well for me, and I'm really proud of myself for it!

I have, but nothing severely life-threatening or particularly notable. I grew up spending a lot of time in Cyprus (it's where my family is from) and as a result I experienced a lot of earthquakes. They were enough to feel the house shake, but I don't actually particularly remember them as I was too young.

Not necessarily any particularly costly ponies here, but when I was kicked out of my parents a lot of my collection was sadly left behind. There were two in particular that were very dear to me. One was G4 Soarin', the movie figure. My best friend knew that boy ponies were my favourite, and, when I visited her at her university, she presented me with him - she had found him whilst food shopping and had bought him to give me as a gift! The other was my CIB Rainbow Dash wedding figure. The wedding set for G4 got me into collecting, and Rainbow Dash was my favourite. Both were left behind.
A few years later, on my birthday, my best friend was beyond excited with the gifts she had gotten me. Not only did she remember several G1 ponies that I had always wanted, but never quite gotten, there were also two boxes that she waited to give me. One, a replacement for the soarin' she got me. Two, the Wedding Rainbow Dash CIB. I had no idea how she had found them so many years later, but there they were! I won't lie, I did tear up. It was so sweet of her.
The one that I am still waiting for a return on is Thundercloud. I'd had him since I was a kid, and foolishly left him behind at my parents. Eventually, he will make his way back to me, and I can't wait for that day <33

My namesake, so I thought I had to post on this one especially! I do have her, but I only got her last year. I spied her in an eBay lot and got lucky, since she was in a bundle of other ponies I didn't have, and some pony wear. I do quite like her, but I think the reason I chose her as my username was because Tex was taken, and I quite liked her symbol. I'm not a huge fan of FT ponies... but I do have a soft spot for her.

G1 Favourite: The variety for sure, there is guaranteed to be a pony for everyone. And the boys! I love the boys so much. Least Favourite: I struggled on this one. I think mostly how some of them can age badly. Or how fragile some of them can feel to me, sometimes. I remember knocking my Gusty off a shelf by accident, catching her, and somehow smudging her eye paint from that - she didn't even hit the floor! My mint ones always feel so delicate. G2 Favourite: I like how dainty they are, and the hooves as well. Huge fan of fuzzy hooves. Least Favourite: No pegasi  G3 Favourite: There is also a lot of variety here! They're also pretty sturdy feeling, if that makes sense? A good size for holding in your hand. Least Favourite: Very few Pegasi/Unicorns. Also, might just be me, but I feel a bit less colour variety. I remember my old G3 shelves having a LOT of pink. G4 Favourite: They look very sweet, almost doe like to me. I love how cute the pegasi look, and I love their wings. Fashion style ponies, too, I love them! Least Favourite: Repetition of the Mane 6, also the hair quality. It got SO BAD. I have some G4's I picked up recently in a charity and their hair is so bad they look like perfume puffs!

visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI got some new watercolours for my birthday and figured I would paint something to test them out! I used this to test out a few skills - colour mixing (this new pallette is limited, with only 12 colours, which was intentional so I could rely less on having the colours there), gradients (which I tried on Tex's tail), and lining with paint (I usually have really bold, blank ink lines in my art). I'm really pleased with it! I have a ways to go, yet, but I'm quite happy with what I've produced here  Eventually I'd love to be able to recreate some of the backcard artwork I'm especially fond of. This particular drawing was inspired by the front of Tex's backcard.

ughhh... I got rejected from this job I really wanted. I love my current job, but I really could have done with the extra hours at this other place. They did point me in the direction of another role, but I think that might be the case for all their rejections? I'm not getting my hopes up!

(Gently) Seeking at the moment!^ By this I mean I'm only really looking for the more common/cheaper ponies right now. This is my wishlist! I ended up separated from 90% of my collection a few years ago now so am slowly building it up from the ground again. As a result there are a LOT of common ponies I don't have. I'll be slowly updating this list until it's comprehensive. If you have several G1's I'm interested in, and have some other ponies you've had issues shifting, ask me about them, because there's a chance I'd be interested and just haven't yet been able to add them to my list!! <3 I'm located in the UK and more than happy to pay international postage - just let me know roughly how much that would cost, I am on a pretty strict pony budget as a student! I am primarily a G1 collector, though there are a few G2-4 ponies that I have a vague interest in picking up. Condition Condition - G1
My only two big nos are tail rust (or rust in general) and strong smells (i.e. mould, or cigarette smoke). So long as a pony is clean I can deal with age-spots, haircuts, frizz, paint rubs etc. I'd love to see photos before buying <3 I specify some ponies on the list being in any condition, and I do mean any condition - again, so long as they aren't moudly or have strong smells (and that's just because I have respiratory issues).
I will also take any and all of your baity boys!!

Inception - easily a 10/10. I'd (somehow) never seen it before, and my housemate is a huge fan, so we sat down and watched it together before they went off on holiday. Very good film, I'd highly recommend!

I really want barnacle... I think he's super cool. I love boy ponies, so much, I compulsively buy them if I see them. Still don't have a barnacle yet though!
