I was wondering how rare the TAF baby ponies are. Are certain baby TAF ponies more sought after than others? And if you have any I'd love to see them please.
-
I feel like a general rule of thumb is ~$100 a pop for these guys. They are certainly sought after!
-
I've never bought any of them but I think Baby Sugarberry and Baby Milky Way would be favourites, maybe even Baby Sweet Tooth so they might cost more (idk just a theory)
-
I think they all have china and hk versions...Milky Way also has streak variations but I don't know if that matters. All of mine came through online trades but they seem to fluctuate on ebay.
-
Yes they are htf and pricey.... $80 on a cheap day, $100 on a average day.
-
I got Baby Up Up and Away in a lucky large BIN lot, but I'm currently paying $80 in installments for Baby Milky Way.
They're hard to find for a good price like a lot of the later mail orders.
-
Yeah, they were already expensive 11 years ago when I bought Baby Sugarberry. Even then she was way out of my reach. I only had the chance to own her because a very friendly Arena member was willing to sell me a flawed one for a great price (I say "willing" because I had zero feedback back then, and she still trusted me). I'm still super grateful for that. :D

I have Baby Dancing Butterflies, HK version <3

I got her along with her mom (Dancing Butterflies) from a thrift store when I was little, maybe...12-13 years ago? Don't kill me but...I think I got them both for like $4. I was honestly shocked when I saw how expensive they are. I've never found another TAF baby in the wild but there you go, it is possible!

I remember when I first got online and found out about them that they were even then high demand ponies because they were baby versions of a very popular set. I know some people found them in the south of England as end of line stock at markets and such but no suck luck in the midlands ;)
They've always been pricey, even back when many others weren't. Rather like Mimic, except that I think the prices o these haven't rocketed in the way that some of the others (Rapunzel...) have. They were around $80ish even in the late 90s, and considering inflation, they might even have got cheaper in relative terms.
I've seen them sell for between $75 and $120 regularly for years. But they go through periods of ups and downs. It's good to wait for a down.
I was lucky with mine in that when I got them, there were a lot more pony doubles around and I was able to trade UK ponies like mountain boys, sweetie babies etc for them. I don't know if I could get them now :/ I've given up on the variant versions.
Mine are all here.

I agree with Taffeta's prices. Hard to find any for under $75 as of late.
I was fortunate enough that they came in a trade at a pony meet many moons ago.

I'd like to get the rest of the set, but really want them flawed...

for a while, 2005 to 2008 or so, I think? You could get Dancing Butterflies for $20 or so cheaper than the rest and MIP was about the same as loose, thanks to a box of them being found in a warehouse, but I am pretty sure the price for her has gone back up.
Even back then, though, the average prices for the TAF babies was $75 and up.
