 The glitter "falls off?" How does that even work? Isn't it on the inside? Or does it fall into the hooves and gather there? Or is the glitter actually dissolving or fading?
 I was always tempted by Tangerine Twinkle and Glitterbelle, but I keep hearing about all these issues, espcially the stickiness. The discoloring I guess I wouldn't mind, but it's still a pretty big issue...nice one, Hasbro.  -__- Chemistry can be annoying sometimes.
I'll put something here some time

I really wish they'd made more! I have Glitterbelle and Secret Wish so far, and I adore them both.

I'll have to keep in mind that at least Glitterbelle can fade... I really like her purple color. Perhaps eventually we'll have to start coming up with methods to reglitter Divine Shines! O_o

This makes me sad every time it comes up. ;_;

Indeed.  I really loved the G3 Divine Shines but I had to get rid of mine because they were continually so gross.  I refuse to collect them because I'm so upset about the problems.  Seriously... all my Sparkle ponies from G1 are perfectly fine - what's the deal with these?

I found one that indeed faded as well and my copy of her is just fine. I will keep an eye on them though and yes this seems common in the gen 3 ponies.

I guess my thought is with the invention of new products that can be made into things at a reduced cost we will see lower prices on the shelves and lower value as well.  If we go all the way back to the first plastics they were quite different and are still around and useful today.  The more and more decades that produce vinyls and plastics are seeing that things are no longer holding up as long.  They are rotting the moment they hit the shelves.  We may not see the chemical process but its obviously there.  The saddest part of all this for me is I collect toys and dolls from Generations as far back as 1920 and while even those toys and dolls have their issues at least a few are not so bad that we can have some of them today.  Fabric always rots over time but oxygen is the cause.  1950s hard plastic dolls smell like vomit when they begin dying and heat can accelerate this fact.  So many are making it though.  However, I fear that the term "antique" will never hit the Hasbro pony market as they will not make it 100 years at all.  The newer the toy the less chance there is they will survive at all to tell a story of our times for our children's children.  That's sad.  Technology that can not last into the future as a nostalgic piece sadly has the chance of being forgotten forever.

Yes only 4 of them in G3 - I do wish they had made more.

Unfortuntately as mentioned it is an issue across all 4 of them - plasticiser leaking causes yellowing, pigment leakage, sticky ponies and even breaks down glitter inside the plastic :(

Terrible quality control but also unfortunately a sign of the times when there is a demand that plastics actually break down much faster than ever before for environmental reasons.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi :hug:

This makes me so sad because this was by far my favorite G3 set. :(

I was reorganizing yesterday and found that my Secret Wish is sticky. None of them seem to be losing color (yet).

Has anybody tried resealing one that's leaking plasticiser? I'm curious if a even a coat of Mod Podge or something would help.

No mine are not sticky at all, but I am really sad. This was one of my favorite ponies and I even have the others on my G3 wanted list as Most Wanted.

I know what you mean. I just checked mine and only one seems a bit sticky. These are some of my very favorites. What a bummer!

 That's an interesting idea. Someone should try this on a sticky fakie some time. Even if it does work, it might not be optimal for a very collectible pony, though.
