Similarities between generations

So I was on StrawberryReef in the G1 section and I saw Up Up and Away. As soon as I saw her I thought "Granny Pie!?" There are also several other similar ponies not intended to be, such as Rarity and Glory or Pinkie Pie and Cotton Candy, ect.

I find this odd, who else is eerily similar but not the same?

Posey and Fluttershy for sure!

Sweetie Belle kinda looks like Baby Moondancer.

G1 Trickles (Rainbow pony) and g3 Garden Wishes (Easter pony, not the unicorn) look really similar to me.  :)

well everybody knows the g4 ponies were styled after g1 ponies right?

fluttershy-posey
rarity- sparkler's tatt with glory's colors and heart throb's voice lol
pinkie-surprise's craziness (she was supposed to BE surprise colors too)
twilight sparkle-was supposed to be twilight (who became her mom kind of lol) but was changed to be more like g3 twilight twinkle
rainbowdash-firefly's attitude/brashness (was supposed to BE firefly)

snips-baby ribbon (a strange baby ribbon lol)
snails-baby squirmy

and i know i'm missing so many others ... soo many others lol

There are a ton of ponies who share similar color schemes and even symbols. It's not that odd. ;D

Wow that good weather lookalike is close!  AUGH why didin't they make Pinkie Pue Surprise's colors???  Surprise is my favorite lol

The G3s with the G2s' names are so different,though.  minty is close I guess but not Bowtie, or Cotton Candy or others.

Posey from G1, Sky Skimmer from G2, and Fluttershy from G4. Then of course characters like Applejack, Minty, Rinbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Cheerilee, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle being in multiple generations.
