Anyhow, have you been to the Flea Market at the old mill in Jewett City? I found soo many ponies there!

Yes! I'm about 20-30min outside both Milford and New Haven, I have family in both towns. I went to the Jewett City one once and I loved it! I got a bunch of pony stuff, but I haven't made it back yet.

I _think_ I would want a pony friend, and then I realize they would be competition at thrift stores and such... which stresses me out.  So I don't think I could go pony hunting with them.  But grooming and rehairing and customizing?  Sure, I'll hang out with someone for that. 

Aadra310 and I go flea marketing together all the time.    We've got an agreement in place - if she needs it it's hers, because her collection is so close to being finished (even if I need it too), and if she doesn't it's mine.  I tend to get most of the loot, actually, lol!  But I will agree it's AWESOME to hang out and talk ponies and groom and customize together.

I used to have a toy guy that saved all the ponies for me. My dad would take me almost every week to go visit him. I got so many great ponies from him! There was also a lady on the lower level with glass cases full of ponies. I know the guy is gone. but the lady might still be there. Those were such good times (and when gas didn't cost an arm and a leg). I haven't been there in a few years. I used to visit my family relatively regularly when I lived in NC (it was only a 13 hour drive) but not so much now that I'm in CO.

I'm trying to think of the other places I used to go- there was a HUGE outdoor one just over the border in NY- had something to do with Elephants. Oh! And I've found a few dozen at the old drive in theater near UCONN. Mansfield?

I actually was looking up flea markets in CT and saw an ad for this one. I was going to go and try my pony luck. It makes me feel a lot better that other people have found ponies there

The Elephants Trunk! I ADORE that one! Legitimately 90% of my collection came from that flea market. I just went to Mansfield for the first time last summer and I really want to go again. The Elephants Trunk has become a lot more antique dealer oriented so I haven't had luck there in a while.

I would definitely recommend Jewett City ShannonInPonyland! The last time I went there was a woman who sold ponies, she had g3's which were a little pricy but I bought them anyway And there were lots of random pony items scattered around! Also if there's a goodwill outlet around I would highly recommend it!

trust me.....they're out there. I thought I was the only one in my area too. But, then through here and the TP, I found out that there are a few within an hour of me. I'm ok with being alone in my pony world in RL because I have all of you here online.

That doesn't sound so bad, actually.  And if two people were at the reasonably same level of their collections, they could split up the time that one gets first dibs.
