Wow it sounds like a great product! I haven't heard of it here, wonder if I can get it online...
Personally, I'm a little nervous about putting anything on a pony that will soak into the plastic. Plus, is it shiny? I'm not sure how I feel about shiny ponies! I also worry about long term effects like discoloring over time. I'd imagine it shouldn't do that, but I don't know much about it.
