Crazy ebay prices strike again...
« on: April 23, 2012, 10:06:27 PM »
why do ebay prices for nirvana's have to be so crazy recently?

did anyone see this auction?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160784247961?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_989wt_1037

last person I recall winning one of these... didn't pay this much, and the time before that paid even less... so why do people have to bid like crazy?

makes my shopping list even more difficult to complete. :(

Greeks seem to be unpopular at the moment Greek Bowtie and her baby ended at $139 0 bids.

I wonder what has sparked the prices with the Argies? :what:

nirvana prices can be VERY fickle!

there haven't been very many argies in the open market for a while this may be why the prices have shot up. i must say that the pony looks in lovely condition and that will have contributed.

i just checked rel's website and she has her listed under a price range of $60-$200.

She is in good nick so guess that's why, and  Argies seem to be very popular at the moment.

Wow! I really feel for you guys collecting Argies - I am NOT your competition BTW!

I have noticed that this nirvana section does seem to be involving Argies on a regular basis, so that may contribute to the prices on ebay... pony peeps catching the Argie-bug and next thing you know, you gotta catch them all!

But *sigh* I must admit, I have been guilty of *a few* of the crazy ebay prices.. mainly due to auctions ending when I'm asleep and I've placed a motza of a bid.. only to lose out come auction end! There was mention of Dutchies in another post... and I'm afraid I'm guilty of contributing to those ridiculous prices  ... not that I've won any...

We can only hope that those who've won may sell again when their craze has lost its luster..? Best of luck with your pony search!

whats weird is that there are several that are not selling for crazy prices. like red haired pinwheel.. shes CRAZY rare but she ended for like $76 (partly because i got distracted and didnt increase my bid  :argh: )

and several other argies are staying withn their expected prices....
so random

i know :faint:  i was watching that auction with *FULL* intention of bidding, and winning.  HAA!!  i didnt even bother bidding when i logged in and it was already over 100$...  she looks mint with lurvelly hair so i do hope the winner is someone from here who posts lots of drool-worthy pictures :P

well I will admit, I am the idiot who won her lol... but only because the last argie I needed I lost out on for like $200+ because I wasn't willing to over pay, this time I wasn't willing to lose out.

when she arrives I'll clean her up and post pictures... but I will tell you this, it still makes me sad that the first time I saw this girl for auction she sold for $75... why didn't I buy then?

also, the greeks have been slipping past the radar, and I've taken advantage of that... I've gotten 4 greeks in the last 4 months... so I have no complaints :)

I saw that, too. I was watching her, because she's one of the last SLH's I don't have, but I don't want her THAT bad!
