That's so cute! My fiance proposed to me at the Fair in 2013 so the Fair has become extra special to us. He's really excited to go even though he's not a huge pony fan, but he really enjoyed it when we went!

It's a wee too far for me, plus my sister's wedding is next year and we're going to Florida, so I've got a load on my plate as it is.  Hope everyone who goes has fun!

I found out about this two minutes before finishing work. So I spent those two minutes submitting my holiday request

I can't put in for it off until... hmm the end of December (stupid Wal-mart) We can only request 6 months in advance. But I will be there.

8.5 hr drive  = not bad
I look forward to going back to Chicago (used to live outside it), but I am concerned about the crime/safety there. I wonder if we'll be in Chicago itself or some suburb like they did for Nashville...

That's what I was wondering.

While I don't mind the city itself so much (I enjoyed the two weeks I spent in the heart of the city two years ago), it'd be nicer if it were outside of the city.

I'm assuming it will be in the 'burbs. Chicago isn't THAT bad crime-wise. Venues/Hotels are much cheaper in the 'burbs, plus it should be near O'Hare for those who are traveling by plane. I'm assuming they only say Chicago because it's a more recognizable city than say Schaumburg.
