need a vacuum, suggestions
« on: December 05, 2013, 05:17:49 AM »
Well I feel silly for asking but I don't like shopping very much. I've looked at reviews but it hasn't really helped. My last one was a Bissell, lasted me 5yrs and cost 50ish dollars. This model is still available but I thought I might try something new and possible better.

my price range is 50-80, bag or no bag, no preferences.

We have no carpet so no vacuum here. My mom though has a Kirby she's had for decades and swears by the thing. I have no idea what their price is though. They seem to last for an eternity though so it may be worth looking into.

I love my Bissell Pet hair Eraser as I have doggies and kitties to contend with. I have hardwood and carpet and it does wonders on both. I love the handheld sweeper attachment so I can get up kitty litter in hard to reach places. I bought it new I think it was around $80ish. They have new models out now and if I was going to get a new one I would stick with them.

We have 6 cats and would be drowning in cat hair without our Dyson.

I'm usually one for getting just a cheapo vac to last me a year or two. We just moved into a new place though, and our old vacuum had had it. So I decided to spend a little more than I normally would and found this bad boy at Target...

THIS.THING.IS.AWESOME. Its like a turbojet sucking things out of the carpet. We just had the carpets cleaned before we moved in, but I vacuumed everything just to test it out. You'd think the carpet cleaners hadn't even done anything! I got a canister FULL of hair and carpet fibers from one room alone. I have 2 dogs and a shedding maniac kitty, so to know I can get all that hair up easily is awesome. It comes with pet hair attachments, a self winding cord, it can do bare floors, and high pile carpet, and its fairly quiet. HIGHLY recommend this thing. It might be weird to say it, but I might be having a love affair with my vacuum. Is that how I know I'm getting old?
