Title: Animal Farm 1954 Film
Post by: bright rabbit 1 on March 09, 2022, 07:39:16 AM
Does anyone remember this movie Animal Farm 1954?

How many times have you watched it?

Who’s your favourite character?

How come Boxer is shown at the end when
Spoiler
he got turned into glue
?

What format do you have it on (VHS, DVD, Blur Ray, or streamed)?

What do you think of it?

What rating would you give it?

It's a great film and adaptation. Have you read the book?

It's been a long time since I watched it. I actually saw it for the first time in school. I remember being disturbed by it (as was everyone else) but we talked about it and what it represented.

Can't really answer your questions since it's been so long.

If you're interested, there is also a live action movie made in 1999. It's more gruesome than the cartoon but it's very good.

They showed it several times in school. VHS i'm sure. All i remember is the pigs were scary. i think most of the discussion in class was either communism is bad or social classes are bad. but it's been well over 20 years so i don't have a clear memory.

i really need to read the book. i read 1984 when i was in high school but I don't remember much. Orwell's work really gets misremembered in American pop culture. I also want to read Homage to Catalonia. the spanish civil war is really overlooked in history classes here. i want to learn more.

I haven't seen the show, but the book was so depressing.

It's taught that the book means communism is bad because it lets the very few take advantage of society's riches at the expense of the many.  But, right now, that seems to be the case for all social systems.  That's where the depressing part comes in.

I hate evil people who ruin things for everyone.
