Oh wow!! I think it's so wonderful that folks have been doing this work, I love having as much detail available so thanks so much! :) the packaging details are really fun to be able to go back and see too - I love watching it change over the years. Thanks so much! :) I'll add these two places to my bookmarks.

You've all been so helpful!

I think I've decided - I'll run my spreadsheet for lots of detail, and use MLP Merch for quick/initial tracking. For more photo-centric stuff, I'll probably have more social media-ish stuff, maybe eventually a little personal website (as I do collect some other things)! I did notice that there was a lot of images missing when it came to Nirvana ponies. Also, generally over the few places I've looked, each place has sparse descriptive information somewhere or another - I was a little sad to see that, especially since some seems like it could be done, but hasn't been gotten around to! The only databases I've checked out are Strawberry Reef, MLP Merch, and I think My Little Wiki? Or something called along those lines. I'm pretty new so I'm sure I'll be scouring the internet for info for a while. I wonder if there's any place that's documented packaging (aside from product advertisement shots). I'm nerd enough to want scans of boxes and instruction manuals and stuff, haha :P

I think I've just learned that I can probably organize and catalog my ponies forever in many great ways

Thanks for responding! I managed to figure out how MLP Merch worked! It's pretty awesome. I think I will use pinterest too when I start taking pictures!

This will be so much easier!

Hi! This is one of my first threads, I hope I've posted in the right area.

I was just wondering what some of you folks were using to keep track of what ponies you have! I'm currently using google sheets, with a separate tab for each generation that I'm collecting. I made an account with MLP Merch because I saw there was a checklist, but then I was unable to access it and use it for some reason! I've decided to use their database as my reference links in my spreadsheet, though.

I'm a library cataloger by trade, so cataloging my collectibles (mainly ponies!) is right up my alley for what's satisfying... I just kind of based it off what I use for donated book data! So yeah I suppose I was curious as to what ways work for you, and if you have any suggestions or tips! I'd love to eventually just make a website or something so that I could add pictures easily. I'd also be up for sharing my ongoing list if that's something that's appropriate, or that people want to check out (not sure if that's brag arena material or not)! I'd like to also make a separate sheet or file for ponies I'm willing to sell and trade so that I can keep track of that.

Thanks for reading :) I'm excited to hear how you track your ponies!

Oh these are so cool! The lemon gal successfully makes me want lemon squares now... also the glitter/sparkle bits are almost a bit like sugar! The green pony with the antlers is really cool with the antlers, I'm inspired to make a foresty pony someday that can hang around some plants <3

Wonderful ponies y'all!

Introductions / Greetings from Central Canada!

Hi! I'm Kat, I'm 25 and from the Canadian prairies. In the past 5 years my mom has achieved her dream of having horses (they can technically be referred to as ponies) and it's caused me to be a bit of a born-again horse girl in a really heartwarming way.

I technically have been collecting ponies since a year ago when I found a G1 newborn twin (Tangles!) at a Value Village. I was so stoked that I successfully identified a pony after watching the Toys That Made Us episode on MLP, and I bought her because she was very cute. I've been hesitant until recently to collect more as friends I had previously had been very judgemental, but the retro/classic G1 reproductions got me interested and I connected with my love for ponies! I have 12 of the MLP retro/classic reproductions, and have now instead started focusing on collecting original G1, G2, G3 and the odd G4 if it has brushable hair and is cute and inexpensive. So far of those, I found Rarity, Heartstrings and Lily Blossom (I have the vintage Blossom so I couldn't resist a $2.50 little comparison)! The only ones I'm not as into are the G3.5... they just aren't quite for me! I find a lot of my ponies via local classifieds (kijiji) and thrift stores! I find the process of cleaning and restoring them deeply rewarding, fun and relaxing. They're cute and fun to find! I love all their beautiful colours and unique names, the cuteness makes my heart sing. My partner collects transformers, so we have a great little collection vibe going on in the house. Right now I have a bag of ponies waiting to be cleaned, and I'm hoping to post a bit of pictures online sometime as I finish them.

My current collection has 9 G1 ponies, and 12 g3 ponies. I have 3 g4's from dollarama and a Glamour Glow Rarity that was packaged with a G3 pony at a thrift store. Her mane was so tangled and frizzy that I took her on as a project, and now she's grown on me! She also lights up, which is pretty cool.

I haven't watched any of the shows or read any books or anything, but the toys alone are pretty fun enough for me so far!

Outside of collecting ponies, I work in an an academic library. I enjoy music, video games, drawing, and reading books. Nice to meet you all!
