Pony Corral / Re: Has anyone seen anything like these before?

Gosh, that's so clever and cute! I'm over here struggling to make a mold, and some kid did it with a toy not even sold in their country in the 80s! I love it! :lmao:

This is what gets me about them! It's such an oddly specific thing to make a custom/homemade mould out of, but I guess I've seen weirder! I agree they do look like plaster casts of some kind rather than just being painted over the original toys. I wonder if they were an obscure fakie plaster cast kit that "borrowed" the original Hasbro moulds - or maybe even a legitimate release that we haven't found yet? I think I'm leaning towards homemade or bootleg atm. It is odd if they weren't released over there... but not impossible, toys do travel esp. if bought on holiday... if only they could talk! Either way they're a really cool and unusual find, congrats!

It really does tick me off, it's so insanely stupid!! I mean NFTs are stupid in the first place, but if it was a guaranteed "buy the figure and get a matching NFT" dealio, I could kind of understand that... but the lottery thing is just bonkers. It's infuriating since they've done quite a few that I would GLADLY pay regular price for if they would just release them normally!!! I have noticed these NFT POPs seem to be mostly of properties that are popular, but maybe not very "current" (if that's the word I want), so maybe that has something to do with it... like they think there'll be enough demand to warrant making them, but not enough to justify a regular release? But if that's the case, just make them online exclusives but otherwise a regular release?? It doesn't make any sense at all :/

Yeah I meant why were they referred to in maternal terms to begin with, not the mommy/mummy thing lol. (I've seen confusion about that before, which has always baffled me... like of course the UK release uses the UK word :silly:)

But yeah I guess it was to go with the MLP Mommy ads, that'd make sense!

Both! hehehe

But no seriously, for me it's Petite/Mummy Charm -> regular pony all the way. I like small things, but they're a little too tiny for my taste.

Has anyone ever done any regular-sized customs of any of the Petite/Mummy Charm characters?

(and why are they called Mummy Charms anyway? I've always wondered!)

Those poseable legs ponies (I've seen a Miss Pommel like that too) have been going around TK Maxxes for about a month now - I'm dying to know where the heck they came from, guess a few crates of old stock turned up in a warehouse or something? :silly:

Another wave of Funko NFT G4 ponies. The fact they're putting common or core ponies in the NFT line like Rarity and Applejack is a sick joke. Daybreaker looks like a really cool sculpt but man is she going to be scalped to high heavens. I was mad having to pay a lot for Princess Luna, I'm going to be even more mad if they bring out Princess Cadance as part of this line as well.

NFT. So you don't actually get a physical pop, just a digital image?

From what I understand, you get an NFT image thingy, and then if you get that then you have a chance to win a physical POP figure in a lottery or something? It's a real mess.

I don't think there's any reason for concern yet... they've only just started appearing in shops, right? I'm sure they'll be more widely available soon.

Oh man, I'd buy the heck out of that Daybreaker (is she an AU Celestia or something? Her design's rad as hell) if she was a regular release too :(

gah, I love Hallmark Keepsake ornaments but I hate trying to find them on their site x) I went looking to see if there were any other interesting ornaments while I was there and I don't get why they don't have a "all licensed products" section or w/e. Always an adventure trying to figure out where they'll put the MLP ornaments. (I'd complain about MLP being under "Kids" while the cute Christmas Optimus Prime one is under "Fan Favourites"... especially since this is a G1 pony so surely more aimed at adult collectors than kids... but I can't say it surprises me... -_-)

Ugh that description though. "The ultimate hostess of tea parties and ice cream at her Cotton Candy Cafe" ??? what??? That's G3 Cotton Candy! Uuuughhhh
Like I get it, G1 CC doesn't really have much of a set personality, but surely they could've come up with SOMEthing instead of conflating her with the G3 character! Not to mention it's again reducing MLP to "oh it's just about tea parties" >__<

Sorry, I just had to get that out. The ornament itself is absolutely DARLING, I think I like her even better than the previous CC ornament they made! Her face is so sweet. I can't wait to get this one, I definitely NEED her :lovey:

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's not Basic Fun, aside from anything else they usually announce their stuff in advance. It is weird that it's just a head, we've had styling ponies before but they at least had bodies too?? Although I'll admit I've never really understood the "point" of styling doll heads.

New Egmont magazine is out with another Pipp toy (same mould as the original one they released back in 2022, but with slightly different colours, paint apps etc), this one has a teeny-tiny little iPhone thing attached to her leg :lmao: It looks so weird and silly, I love it.

Definitely sisters ^^

They're both nice, but it's got to be Buttons for me.

UK peeps - if anyone's still looking for them, I found the Basic Fun blind boxes at GAME today! :) They only had two (i.e. not a whole box or anything) but figured I'd pass the info on anyway.

Unfortunately I can't access your Tumblr reliably - if I scroll too far down it starts asking me to log in :( Seems to be some new thing they've added in for blogs that are tumblr.com/username instead of username.tumblr.com, weird site... But I did manage to get it to work long enough to see the model sheets of Taffy and Sweet Stuff, ooooh! The SS one could be for the TAF advert I guess? But Taffy, ooh :O

Love the Baby It's Cold Outside sketches, omg they're so fluid and full of character! The sketch page of Charlton is wonderful.
