Title: Favorite Disney Villian
Post by: nessa16 on February 23, 2018, 11:53:09 AM: Who is your favorite animated Disney villain or antagonist? I tried to include as many as I can think of. If yours isn't up there, share it with us in the thread. I have allowed the choice of up to 3 villains. My top 3 are Maleficent, Wicked Stepmother, and the Evil Queen.

Oh forgot about him! Probably because I usually didn't watch that segment on Fantasia as a kid much.

I guess I was aiming for the full length animated features but these are great too. I love the Gargoyles! Only show I would get up for before school to watch.

I chose Scar, Gaston, and Shan-Yu. Scar was my childhood crush. Gaston isn't a real villain but he has a catchy song, and Shan-Yu is basically the most evil character in all of Disney ("How many soldiers does it take to send a message?").

People forget about Chernabog, to me Night on Bald Mountain should of been the end of Fantasia.

Another Disney villian I like Firebird from Fantasia 200. Now that segment is a jumpscare when he awakens.

Wolf in Make Mine Music Peter and the wolf segment is another forgotten character.

Scariest Disney Villian would be this fellow

Kovu is obviously not an 'enemy', but I do like Zira. Always have. Actually I probably should have ticked Scar, because he's maybe the best thing about LK 1, the film that has Hakuna Matata in it and therefore can never ever be ranked among my favourites. If Scar had eaten Timon and Pumbaa, he'd have been my favourite :)

Frollo I see as more of a tragic figure, but that might be because I remember what he's like in the book.

I second that a thousand times over! He was brutal, and as with many of Disney's villains, he was even more so in the original story. In Carlo Collodi's original book, he bit off ears; and even stalked Pinocchio five months later, broke into his home and sold him to a circus.

But my favorite villain would be Maleficent

Watch the movie again.
He is utterly racist, hates women, he is a sadist who enjoys watching torture, hates Quasimodo for being disfigured and makes it known to him he is trash and will always be - and yeah, he straight up killed Quasimodo's mother so he's a first degree murderer. He compares Romani to insects that need to be eradicated. He wants to burn Esmeralda on the stake because she refuses his molestation. And in Disney's version Esmeralda is Romani and not white, which just adds to his racism.
He is afraid God will punish him for his sins, that's tragic I guess :cool:

Frollo is a Disney villain that's just unfunny to me. He is too realistic for a movie that has talking, farting gargoyles.

Maleficent because Sleeping Beauty was the Disney movie of my childhood and I loved dragons, therefore I loved Maleficent. Yzma's just fun.
Dr. Facilier's song is my favorite of all of the villain songs. I love the swingy beat and the use of green and purple in the movie.

Is he simply just known as the coachman? I was going to put him in with Or instead of Strombolli but couldn’t remember his name.

Yeah, I don't think he was ever given an actual name:

He was the only Disney villain that actually scared me as a child. Adding to the creepiness, he never faced justice and the boys that were turned into donkey slaves were never freed. The scene where the boys, as donkeys, are crying and begging to go home was really disturbing to me.

I love Disney but I don't watch Pinocchio very often.

Which is funny I suppose, because he's one of the more recent Disney villains, relatively speaking. I just always love watching him in Hercules or seeing him appear in the Kingdom Hearts series. Since Hercules has been a reoccurring franchise in the KH series, Hades always appears and he is always super entertaining.

I skip the Pleasure Island scene, and go to Monstro the whale. Only Monstro thing that scared me was in Kingdom Hearts (the very first game), he came out of nowhere.
