It's time to welcome a whole new year. With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to start a thread about the things we are looking forward to in the months to come. Here are some of mine:
January 10th -- My Dad will be released from physiotherapy.
January 12th -- Nintendo will be more fully revealing its new console, the Switch.
February -- Valentines and my birthday
March 17th -- Beauty and the Beast
March -- Nintendo Switch's scheduled release month.
March -- Kingdom Hearts disc with a bunch of the older games is being updated for ps4.
June 2016 -- E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo)
Year of Superhero Movies: Lego Batman, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Wonder Woman, Spider Man, Thor 3, Justice League... I love Superhero movies, so I can't wait.
... And this is just the stuff I know about now. It can only get better from here! :)

I'm excited to for new Steven Universe episodes this January. I am also excited for the MLP film.
-
New Smurfs movie, Boss Baby (or is it Baby Boss?), Beauty & the Beast - something to take my little one to see :P
Joining a gym (again) and burning off some of my wobbly bits  in time for looking trim for the summer!
Spring & summer bootsales - to hunt for G1s! Always so much fun :frolic:
-
This a great idea, I love a good bit of excitement! This year so far, the things I have to look forward are...
January - My birthday (on Friday the 13th! Sweet!) and a week after that, one of my favourite bands has a new album out. Also hoping to hear back from a library assistant job I applied for this morning; fingers crossed if I get it then that can be my foot in the door for eventually working up to a librianship! :D
March - Another one of my favourite bands have their first proper album out; the singles they've already released from it are *amazing* and I can't wait to hear the rest!
October - Halloween! :devious:
December - £50 walk-in flash day at a tattoo parlour with *amazing* artists, one of whom does seriously beautiful moths that actually have decent anatomy on them, so that's what I'm having!
Hopefully there'll be more excitment to come!
-
Nothing in particular, just more writing and pony collecting!
-
My husband got a much better paying position so we're going to be moving.
-
I'm really looking forward to the rest of winter (hopefully it'll be cold this time), as well as summer (hopefully it'll be warm this time). The last few seasons have been pretty disappointing, but I'm getting my hopes up for this year :P
Other than the weather, I'm just looking forward to a regular year that's like every other year. That's the way it ought to be :)
-
Looking forward to my husband's birthday in a couple weeks, and going to Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds in Feb, for the short term. For the long term... who knows?
-
Well, I look forward to my Music Arranging and Technology class. I have no idea what exactly it's all about, but if I get to learn more about recording, samples, etc. that'd be really exciting.
I also hope this is the year where I meet someone. Feels like everyone around me is, and now I'm almost in my 30s. :(

You live in Norway, I bet even a less severe winter would still run circles around the lame winters we've been having where I live.
I'm sooo tired of it. 2011 and beyond we have been snubbed every year. Winter is my favorite season. We used to get at least one six inch plus snowstorm every winter, but now it feels like we're lucky to see one inch (we didn't even see that last year). The warm stretches (60s/70s F for highs) are becoming more regular and dominant.
Once February hits it will essentially be Spring. I'm so sad. We essentially have one month left and the temperatures will start ramping back up with little hope. I hate Spring. I'm already getting depressed.
I wish the best for you - that you'll get a winter! There's not much hope left where I live. =( The weeks slip by so fast and nothing.
-
I'm looking forward to quite a few things! Continuing to decorate my new house, some shows we have tickets to, new movies coming out, etc. Hope it'll be a good year!
-
Well, I have new Minecraft updates, new Nintendo stuff, more time for ponies, September 11 is my 16th birthday, more ponies...
-
Hmm..
I start student teaching this month. :)
Theatre tickets
Vacation plans (there should be at least a Disneyland trip in the cards)
And spending time with family and friends
-
Resident Evil The Final Chapter and Underworld Blood Wars.
-
Some more things I am excited for
Everfree Northwest Convention and my local theater's broadway series including The Lion King
-
A new season of Blue Exorcist and a tax refund.
And...possibly..returning to......CHINA to teach English. I liked being rich. Not a fan of being poor again :pout: Who needs healthy lungs, right?
-
Many things, but what I'm especially looking forward to is this Sunday (January 8)! Because I will turn 30, and it's also my first birthday in our own home. :rainbow: :D
-
Im excited for my training for a managment position!
Then theres the Cherry Blossom festival this spring in the Dallas arboredum- super exciting! Always my favorite time of the year!
All the Pokémon Sun/Moon plush to be released!
Shelving ponies!
A-kon anime convention, as always!
Im also excited for 3 more really huge adult things my husband and I are doing this year! ;) One is a bucket list item!
-
Not sure at the moment. I hope things start falling into place for me this year though. I'm going to try harder at making my dreams come true. I sure hope whatever good comes along it will be far better and bigger than 2016. I lost out on so much last year in more ways than one so here's hoping for a successful 2017!
-
No excitement here. Just hoping they actually will let me have disability so I can have some security heh. But my sister is getting the new Zelda game when it comes out. So I can play it there. I guess there's that.
-
2017 is going to be great once we get some stuff sorted. Our baby will be here in July, so there's that, and really that's going to be the best, so.... yeah. 2017 sorted.
-
I will have/anticipate to have several large bills paid off by the end of the year: the smaller of my two student loan bills, my care credit bill, and the repayment to my parents for the money I borrowed for my dog's surgery. So that will cut down immensely on my monthly expenses.
-
On February 17, 18 and 19 I'll be attending my favorite annual convention, Boskone! :) Convention for sci fi and fantasy literature, specifically.
-
Love this topic!
May - London MCM Comic con! I missed October 2016 because I couldn't afford it and although I might not have as much money to spend this year, I'm still super excited to go. I hope to go to UK Ponycon for the first time this year too.
September - Three year anniversary! (and my birthday. But that's less interesting.)
Black Panther movie! I'm so looking forward to this movie.
There's also tons of book releases this year that I am dying to have. I'm saving all of my christmas vouchers to buy them. But waiting is haaaaard....
-
I'm looking forward to lego batman and hopefully less hospital visits this year. :satisfied:
-
Ohh, I forgot that Black Panther is coming out. I want to see that. I also agree that oodles of great books are releasing. We also found out that my bf finally gets two weeks of vacation, which means he'll be visiting twice and work will pay for it. I re-opened my book blog and it's off to a nice start, and tomorrow I'm getting an iPad Mini 4!!!

Ooh, you have a book blog too? :) What kind of books do you like?
-
I mostly review YA, but I also read the occasional romance, fantasy, middle grade book, non fiction, etc. I love a wide variety of genres and categories.

My best friend runs it with me and she's more fantasy, LGBT, Tolkien sort of reviews. But I'm like you with more YA and the occasional middle grade. But I'll read anything that catches my eye, really.

My boyfriend and me will move to France, rent a house ad hopefully, that'll allow me to get a job, finally...
Here in Belgium i gave up any hope of getting one, as i don't speak the second official language of our country, Dutch.
The people hiring apparently don't give a damn about the fact that is speak fluent English..
I look forward to the move and at the same time, i'm terrified. How will it go? Will my 4 cats get used to it? How will we move them for that long trip (8 to 10h drive)...
-
Ooh the Trolls movie is out on DVD very soon - (pre-ordered it on Amazon) - I suppose my young daughter is looking forward to that   she loved it at the cinema, she and her friend were dancing in the aisles to the music (uh-oh, will this turn into Frozen and be played on repeat for the next 6 months??)
-
Ooh, didn't realize the release was that close. Want. :D

About eight years ago I moved with two of my cats across the country, a 13 hour drive. We had two small cat carriers we put in the back seat, next to me (my parents were driving). The cats did fine, although they weren't entirely happy! We stopped in the evening at a hotel that allowed pets and I set up two bowls for food and water, and a small litter box, in the hotel bathroom. Then we made it the rest of the way home the next day. I think you can make it, just let them know you are nearby while you guys are in the car (talk to them) and give them a chance to relax and be calm when you make it to your new place. :) Good luck!

I'm looking forward to seeing what this year has in store for me. Last year was full of changes... I broke up with a long term partner but found a new SO who I think is 'The One' and will be celebrating 1 year with in a few months. We already move in together but are hoping to move into our own place this year. Also getting my driver's license which will give me the freedom to pursue further education and a career change. :)
-
Just noticed my bills account was saving money - I usually only put enough in there to just cover bills.. Apparently the loan we took out for our car and wedding - $23,000.00, 5 years ago - paid off! 2017 is going well financially, well it will be, once I get back to work!

2017 is going to be a big year to me with lots of new challenges.
First off, I am finishing high school this year, I have exams coming in several months...
...but if I do them well, I will be graduating!
I am planning to compete a lot this summer horseback!
I have a big decision to make - what shall I do in the future, which college will I go after high school. I currently have many options and each of them have their advantages and disadvantages...but I have to decide it in the end.
All the colleges that I have in my list right now are out of the town I live in, which means I have to rent an apartement and from the autumn I will start an independent life, away from my home and my parents. This seems scary and exciting at the same time.
My new year's resolution was to lose weight and keep myself fit, I've been lazy for too long now :P It has gone great so far, I hope I'll continue as well!
Preparing for Breyerfest 2018! Squeeee! My dream is coming true! I have waited for this years and have collected money and now it's time to plan this trip to America, it's going to be great!
I am taking my final course at driving school this summer. I don't know how the system is elsewhere, but basically we have to do 2 years after completing the exam a final course to get the final licence, I currently have the beginners licence, that doesn't allow me to drive over 90 km/h.
That's it for now :P
-
Wow, big! It sounds like you are going to have a very big year--congrats! I hope you enjoy your vacation in America. :)
