I'm actually not a fan of G4 either. Although their prices and availability help them be a good starting point for collecting!
I know a lot of folks love the series, which I've never seen (doesn't seem to be on British tv x_x) but like someone mentioned earlier, there's only a few core ponies you can collect properly.
G1s however, with surely nearing the 700+ Mark in collectable figures range which are all different characters, are a whole new ball game! I grew up with G1 ponies and they were my favourite toy. I had 35 when I was a kid, now that's near 300! They are so nice to collect and look at! They still have that cuteness but have a quality of toy making, not seen anymore.
Plus, those girls are nearing the 20 years old Mark, and more! That's an achievement.

Woop! Didin't realize so many folks hjad gone to town with this thread! I kept seeing Braz Milkyway and thought 'wow...she is Bbeeaautiful! x.x' but could never afford that much. I wish i was rich! Just saw that blue Licketdy split! Look at her price! Over a thousand dollars! Thats immense. I was looking around the other day at the Nirvana ponies on the arena gallery and was shell shocked with the variety of colours and pose differences. I love them gah! Wish my wallet would allow me to purchase one.

Heylo Nirvana fans!  I've only got a couple of 'Nirvanas' in my collection such as German Raindrop and I was just wondering; does anyone know which is the rarest and one that goes for the most money? I know they can reach Ridiculous prices, and I so wish i was a millionaire! I'd buy them all, some are so pretty! If I did want to buy one, whats the best way to go about actually financing that? So much money that they are and all....sometimes i wish I was born in Argentina, or Greece so that i could of possibly got my hands of them beauties at an early age!

Those babies are brilliant! I would love them! Question, what paint do you use To paint the ponies bodies so smoothly?? They look so good and no brush marks!

Hello every-pony!  I've decided to get a bit creative lately, purchase some clay and get sculpting! However I'm no expert and have never really attempted sculpting properly. To practice i've been creating these lil monsters! I'm liking them quite a bit and may actually end up selling them to loving homes at the next MLP fair UK. (anyone know when dates are and location yet??) What does the arena think about these? Helloooo! It was the UK PonyCon today, as I hope a lot of you realize! Me and my sister, wyn-wyn went along for our first time ever and I had such an ammmaazzzing time. I am SO going to enter the cosplay competition next year and have a stall I loved seeing home made creations! And to top it all off, I got some great bargains on G1's and some rare beauties too! (see Brag arena post http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,311626.0.html). I've taken a few pics but i was way to excited to concentrate on taking lots of photos...and I have no idea who y'all are in these photos so if you see yourself or any friends please mention them I was the girl with the 'Made in the 80's Princess sparkle' shirt with the mummy charm necklace and the MLP vintage tote bag...and probably the girl rummaging through pony boxes and grabbing all the G1's! lol. Woop woop! Got back from my first ever PonyCon today and me and my sister managed to grab some great ponies!! Me and my sister Wyn-wyn, went to the Leicester Old toy and Antique store today in town (remember the one I told you all about in a previous post??) And we snapped up a few beauties! I'm kinda scared though... I know everyone will be super friendly but I also know I'll still feel a bit "eeeek they know more than me"
Haha! I feel the same way :/ I'm thinking of wearing pony-related shirt or clothing, however not sure about a costume! I think it would be fun, but maybe i'll do that on the 2nd con i visit considering this is my first, not sure what to expect so excited though, wish i could do the whole weekend but don't think i could get the time off work  so gutted i work weekends too!
