First loop and lock rehair custom Baby Galaxy

So I have a friend who happens to have Galaxy as one of her favorite ponies and I thought to myself that after all the nice cheering I got with my first custom I should try to take on a more challenging one. And challenging she was.

I tried my first pony dye - it turned out ok but a bit darker than mommy pony. Will have to work on better timing and such.
Then I moved on to the new hair and made the discovery that not all of the hair I have feels the same and behaves the same. The GITD white is more yarn-y.
It took me 4-5 hours to rehair her  and it didn't turn out perfect but still pretty good.

Last but not least were her symbols and eyes.
I didn't have gemstones to put in her eyes so she got metallic pink color instead to resemble mommys eyes.
And then I learned a harsh truth.
I am struggling with painting small things. And I am really bad with stars.
That aside I think little Baby Galaxy, who received Ursa Minor instead of mommy's Ursa Major symbols, turned out pretty well.
And my friend seems willing to adopt her so it's all good

And no, I still haven't figured out a good way to style pony hair so I will leave that up to her new owner.

She looks great! Stars are hard, especially tiny ones, and I think you did a wonderful job! Her eyes look great too.

GITD hair isn't usually nylon (I'm not sure if you can get it in nylon even) so yeah it feels and behaves a bit differently. It's kinda hard to tame.

You have had great success dying her, I haven't had much luck dying ponies so it always impresses me when I see people dying them. I don't think her being a bit darker matters at all.

I love the thought you put into her symbol that counts for a lot on top of it being well executed.

Hey great work! I absolutely hear you with the painting complaints - repainting eyes has got to be my least favourite part of making a custom! Finding quality paint brushes and paint definitely helps though!

As for her being darker and her symbol being a bit different, that's right in line with baby ponies being different from their parents anyway.
