Oh my goodness some of these patterns are totally adorable! I actually adore the one for the bean bag pony that's just cute. I have a strange feeling my house will be filled with little plush ponies by the end of this swap.

Lots of my plush critters end up being fleece, and I have a little hoard of fleece. I'm sure I'll need to pick up a different color. I used to make terry cloth plush critters but that gets really expensive if it's not on sale (unless you're cheap and buy towels. I've done that but my machine hates it, and I usually have to sew it by hand).

What do you guys normally do for eyes? I've always kinda doe button eyes on my plush critters, but I feel the need to at least test out something different.

I use embroidery, but you can use those iron on films or felt and cut the pieces by hand.  Or, use whatever, really!  Get creative!    I've heard some people use fabric paint and go to town with it.

So far I've only done iron-on transfers but I'm hoping at some point to try embroidery, though it'll be by hand and take forever.   There's a great tutorial on how to do it on DA.  I wish I had the machine to do it for me, that'd be so awesome.

I've even seen tutorials of people printing then on fabric with their colour printer.  That was a new one for me, I'm scared it would harm the printer.

I would have to look in my sewing machine's guide book, but I'm pretty sure mine has an embroidery option. I think I looked before and didn't want to pay for the extra pieces to do it by machine. Oh that tutorial though thanks. There are just a few things on there I don't have, so I will have to do a bit of shopping this weekend and experiment making eyes. Those embroidery ones are so cute it would be nice to try making those.

There are so many crochet options out there too. I will have to figure out which one I would want to use and if I want to crochet eyes/use safety eyes/buttons. That is, if my partner wants a crochet pony in return. I can post links to patterns if desired.

Don't be nervous Rosier! This will be my first pony plush I've made, and I'm super picky when I make stuff. That might be why when I sew something I have to buy so much extra fabric.

Lots of patterns are super easy, so if you can sew anyway don't worry about it.

Skeen, you're making me jealous that you have an embroidery machine.  What kind is it?  If anyone else uses one, can you let me know what you use and how you like it?  I almost want to buy one.
