Sweet Sounds Pinkie Pie?

Anyone know what happened to her? I know a few months ago, someone found her at a ROSS, but, I don't think we've seen anything else? It seems so odd to make a new mold just for such a limited release..

I don't know that it was supposed to have a limited release. There's a G3.5 version that looks nearly exactly the same, I believe a few years ago when the G4 version was first announced people tried to find/order it but kept getting retailers that only had stock of the old G3.5 version. I think maybe the G4 one wasn't ordered and therefore wasn't produced in great numbers due to the pre-existing stock not moving.

As prancingstag says, its just a stocking issue. If companies are still sitting with the G3.5 make of her they wont order new stock - for licensed merch and this kind of item licensees and retailers tend not to be overly fussed that they are stocking something thats a bit dated. It doesnt help as well that the generations have run straight into one another and that this uses the same character.

I guess its not that popular or fast moving a product so perhaps with time we will see the G4 version in greater quantities or perhaps its just too much of a shelf warmer and any new stock will arrive in stores like Ross and TK/TJ Maxx etc.

I wonder if mold making is different nowadays.. because yeah.  if they went to the trouble to make a new mold (this one is half way between Playful and Fashion style) you'd think they'd want to cash in on the effort and make lots of different ponies with it... well at least different releases.  Seems like a waste to make "one off" molds.  Maybe the molds aren't as good as quality and are only good for a few 100 copies/impressions?

Ivd been looking alllllll over for her at ROSS! I live by 3 and no trace of them on any isle.
