Is anyone else having issues with mail from Germany?

I have won two auctions in the last few months from sellers in Germany.  The first one was in late May, and is still missing.  That one sadly does not have a tracking number or insurance, so I'm in the middle of a whole big thing with the seller. 

I now have a SECOND item from Germany that's looking a little slow.  It's already over a week past its estimated due date, which isn't much for an international transaction, but I've been getting stuff from the UK A LOT quicker(mostly).  I'm wondering if there's some sort of weird hang up either in Germany or in US customs going on.

I have not purchased much from Germany recently, it was always quite quick in the past though. However, the swap boxes that I was sent from there, took quite a while to arrive. One of them came a couple days after the first, it had been opened by customs.

OMG I DID!

I bought something on 6/26- it was sent DHL EXPRESS! 

After 19 days I finally had to open a non-received item dispute-  the seller provided DHL tracking that showed it was still in Frankfurt Germany as of two days ago !  The seller made a bunch of calls and that must have dislodged her, because now her tracking number shows that she has arrived today in Jersey City.

I bought a pony from Baby Applejack in Germany and while she was a wee bit slow arriving, she did make it here yesterday!  I'm worried again because I have a trade coming out of Germany and ponies going out there!  :Crosses fingers for all the ponies stuck in the German post:

Hmmm. I just sent two items from germany to worldwide destinations and both got there within a few days.

i guess they can be rather slow because some of the custom places are "overrun"- frankfurt especially. but i just checked my currenty trankingnumbers for the things i send out and they are still laying at my local post office. thank you, local post office! *grrrr* -.-"

Well I had no probs at all the last few weeks / mailings.
All stuff arrived within 2-4 weeks.

Sometimes it takes longer cuz of the customs.
I still don't believe that lotsa mailings get lost, sometimes it's different probs what causes the delay.

I'm waiting on a package from Germany AtM - I bought it about a week ago so I'm not worried. The last item I bought from Germany was in early June and it took just over a week to get here. Sometimes its quicker, sometimes a bit longer, but I'm in the UK. I would expect it to take 3 -4 weeks or sometimes longer outside Europe/UK

The package has been sent in May (?) and it haven't showed up yet. Seller says she has done a report but I'm pretty pessimistic about it..

well i did send something one or two months before april overseas and it came back to me about in late may. adress was right, everything was fine,.. but the chocolate was removed. on it was a sticker that the adress is unreadable and they couldn't forward it, so they send it back.
i believe they just took the chocolate, been to embarassed to send it further and send it back. since the note were english i think this happened at the us customs. u.u"

I have usually found shipping from Germany (to NZ, anyway) to be wonderfully efficient? I hope that continues as I have something that has just gone on its way to me, lol!

Not quite the same, but I sent something to Germany a couple of months back (an artwork) and I nearly freaked out that it had become lost as it took forever to get there. I think it was three or four weeks in the end and it was only an A4 sized envelope! Thankfully good old Emuel was wonderfully calm about it and she got it in the end!
