Ebay purchase cancellation

I had a buyer message me saying that they couldn't pay for the item they bought because of issues with paypal.  I went ahead and sent them a cancellation request, and it says they just need to respond.  Is there anything else I need to do?  I've never had someone cancel a purchase.  I sent them a reply first letting them know I was going to send the cancel request, and asked them to agree to it, then sent the request. 

It says I'd get the final value fee reimbursed, but nothing about the listing fee.  It was a listing with a quantity of 2, and someone previously bought the other, and I think I only paid the listing fee once.  Will I have to relist it and pay the listing fee again?

I had the similar thing happen to me with something I was selling on eBay too.  I put in a request to cancel the transaction and the buyer had to agree to cancel the transaction.  For me, it was quick, simple and painless.  EBay reversed my selling fees for the transaction too. 
I think as long as the buyer agrees to cancel (and it was per their request), the issue is case closed:)  I hope it works out for you sweetie!!!

Michelle's right!  It's pretty quick and painless    Just so long as they accept the cancellation request.  I would make sure if they don't respond in a timely manner that you drop them an email and explain the process.  They make think they have nothing to do with it on their end, except ask you if it's ok?

As far as your fee's I believe you will be reimbursed as soon as it's cancelled.  But I think when you relist because you were reimbursed they will charge you for relisting it.  It's only if an item does not sell that they wave the listing fee.  I could be wrong as I am only going by memory here but I think that's how it works.

Out of mild curiosity, what were the items that were canceled?

It was a sparkle rainbow dash blind bag, so it wasn't a big deal for me.  The buyer doesn't have any feedback, so I'm thinking they're a new member who hasn't figured out paypal quite yet.  They said they couldn't get their card attached to paypal so they couldn't send the funds.  I'm honestly just glad they messaged me instead of just letting it go npb.

That's really nice that they messaged you. Being a new ebayer, it would be more likely for them to just ignore it.

Yeah, you're screwed with the listing fees. You can call Ebay and pitch a fit if you like though.

I had trouble with two non payers for blind bags too! Ugh! What is with buyers not wanting to pay for blind bags??

I'm going with one of the earlier comments about a possible new user having trouble with paypal. When I first signed up I thought mine was right, and I bid on something. Then my card wouldn't pay, and it took me like two weeks to get it fixed. I was lucky though that my seller was super awesome and patient. Thought I would cry at the thought of destroying my first rating and having a non paid for item. He was great though and after that finally figured it out.

The buyer got a feedback right after cancelling mine, had bought a normal blind bag Rainbow Dash, so I'm wondering if they just lied because they got her instead.  Either way, I don't really care all that much lol.  They agreed to the cancellation, and she's been relisted.

Glad that it mostly worked out for you!  Sucks about the listing fee, but it is a small amount...

 I would have said that it was prolly just a newbie having troubles with paypal, but if she got that feedback for another RD BB  then it does sound like it was maybe buyers remorse afterall *sigh*
