If this IS real how many sub generations of G4 will we have?! These are going to be so hard to label!
D-do you think this is just a really weird place holder? Like the play set will come with the new pony life style ponies but they threw together this play set concept before they unveiled the new molds? That’s wishful thinking of course, but this is honestly just bizarre. I’m not surprised by the recolored castle at this point, but going BACK to the reboot old mold with new eye shapes is such a weird choice. I honestly really came to love the new molds, so I hope they’re not backing off of them!If this IS real how many sub generations of G4 will we have?! These are going to be so hard to label!
Not that hard. Just as SHS and Dream Beauties is all part of G1 and Ponyville and NBC are all part of G3, EQG, Movie Style and Retro are part of G4.
G4/Movie/G4.5 (Pony Life) makes sense to me.And I still hate the "why don't we call SHS G1.5?" argument. SHS didn't replace the original G1 molds entirely. (Nor did EQG, for that matter) Both times G4 redid the molds, they DID replace the previous G4 mold.

For the record I hate anyone subdividing G1. I just think that if G1 and G4 were reversed we'd look at the classifications differently with each.
I guess G3.5 could be "Ponyville". Though I accept that's not entirely the same thing.
Another potential game-changer is that Hasbro seem to use the generation terms themselves, these days. Didn't some of the leaked FiM documents from a while back specifically use the phrase "G5" etc? They might decide for us what designates a new gen... I mean, if Hasbro decide to market the next set of ponies as "G5" (or at least, refer to them as such in official capacities; I doubt they'd put that on the packaging or anything) then we couldn't very well call them something else without it being confusing x)Quote from: Taffeta on February 03, 2020, 12:27:09 PMI guess G3.5 could be "Ponyville".
