After selling off my entire pony collection a couple years ago, ending last year, I'm back with a vengeance... I've already started recollecting, picking up ponies wherever I can find them. :P

First, my retail brags! Here are my new Equestria Girls Minis! So far I've found Twilight and Pinkie here in town... On the hunt for the other four, and I'm considering some of the other lines. I'm hooked!

Second, two eBay lots that I bin'ed. Overall the four of them were in good shape; Fizzy had tail rust, so I've been working on cleaning her up, but the rest are in nice condition.

And my first ever G2! I never bought any when I collected before, but I finally got one now. She's so tiny! Missing her NDS eye gem and has a few marks, but she's overall really gorgeous. I've been bit by the G2 bug!

The Frankie in the center is my first rehair, who I'm still super proud of lol. :P I just bought a couple of tiny stands which will hopefully work for the EG minis, and I have 3 new So Softs on the way... I'm really back in the swing of things now.

Will update this thread tomorrow when I get more ponies! <3

I don't think I could leave and G1, G2, or G3 behind. G3.5, G4, I could probably let someone else have. I've brought home ponies in all conditions- just as long as they're not overpriced, I'm fine with it.

I guess I'm officially back into collecting ponies, because I just had a pony dream! Well, maybe more like a pony nightmare.  :shocked:

In the dream, I had just received a big lot of G1s from someone... I took them out all excited, then started examining them. I shook one of them and it rattled with rust- like it was totally full of rust! I could feel it shaking around in there, and it smelled too. Then I really started looking closely at the others and ALL of them were full of rust, even Steamer! It was horribly gross. I couldn't fathom cleaning out all those filthy ponies. Luckily I woke up and was saved from doing it, lol.

Do you have pony dreams? Or other collection dreams? I'd love to hear them. :)

I think younger me would be shocked. I was a pretty androgynous child, more into roleplaying and imagination than dolls... I was kind of raised to not like girly or childish stuff, because my parents didn't like it, so I always "hated" ponies and stuff as a kid. :( But at the same time, I think she would be relieved to see that I'm able to enjoy "girly" stuff and would want to play with them. Ultimately I feel like she'd be alarmed by some of the prices I pay for my collectibles though!

Thanks for the headsup, lovesbabysquirmy! I thought I remembered oxiclean being bad for TEs- and princess ponies, right?

 I ended up cleaning her with toothpaste, a baby toothbrush, and dish soap. I got most of the rust out of the body and all out of the head... Might actually do an oxi bath just for the body to get the rest of the rush from her rear legs and butt.

It's been quite a while but I remember I successfully beheaded a BNG and removed the mechanism in her head... The head removal just takes quite a bit of force to pull it over the last part of the "stem" that goes up through her neck. As for removing the mechanism to rehair her, I cut it out with an exacto knife, very carefully, and wiggled it out, then planned to reglue it later. Never actually ended up doing the whole rehair.

 If you need any assistance with the tail part of the mechanism, let me know, I still remember a lot of it.

Hello!

So the other day I got some pony mail, and today while examining a "dirty" looking pony, I noticed the ol' familiar tinge of orange/brown around her tail... She didn't rattle or anything, but I confirmed it upon yanking her head off: rust! Now, it's been a minute since I restored any old toys, but last thing I remember, I think we were using Oxy Clean or something to clean out rusty ponies. Is that still correct? I'd hate to dump this girl in a bath and ruin her. (She is a TE if that makes any difference, though I suppose I could wash out her head without submerging it in OC.)
