Title: Mlp friends T-Rex, ****updated**** Berry Love, Northern Lights, Beach Comber!!!

Hi all!  I wanted to post some of my improvements!  After getting into moulding and casting I was able to get a mlp friend tryranosaurus Rex!  Let me know what you think?  I didn't add hair to this one like my older ones, but eyes and cutie marks Instead! 

Update!

Berry Love - has a flaw in her front lip and I'm not sure if I will sell her .  It's an incased bubble and if you don't play around with it it'll be fine.  I used a lot of opal flakes and I found it looks awesome, but lots of bubbles...

I think they look amazing, I especially adore Milky-way! That milk white, translucent colour is just beautiful. Love the pose too!

OMG those are AWESOME! I love Milky-way! The mold is perfect. I have no idea how you did this but it absolutely amazing. The little teeth are perfect!

She even has iridescent flakes in her body that change from green to pink!  Kinda like an opal!

I put them both up for sale on my etsy, depending on how this first round goes I'll make more lol.  I have about 6 made that I need to finish...  but these two are my favourites,  I'll probably go back and change my first two to look like these ones.  I'm glad the teeth moulded pretty well, the casting aren't perfect as I don't have a pressure pot, but the flaws aren't noticeable on top,  just under the belly and under the feet!

These guys are cheaper lol,  less work so around 26$ American

Thanks!  Slowly finishing a bunch I made, but the girly lighter colors are my favourite to work with!

Thanks!  I was surprised how well it turned out!  I even put a pearlescent glaze over the mark and her eyes so they shimmer in the light!

I adore Milky Way and I love Lilac's combo of neon and pastel! Plus the molds you made them in are soooo adorable! :lovey: I love that they don't have hair. These are dinosaurs after all not horses.

Thanks!  I was thinking of doing a feathered raptor at some point and flicking it, more believable I think!

Should be!  I went to look but it only refers to me as Darci lol.  But when I search it , I come up.  I use darcisan for 20 years now lol!!!  All my art on deviant art, music videos, profiles.  Kinda funny.... jeese 20 years.....

Thanks!!  I'm no expert, as this is my first foray into the world of moulding and casting.  I took an online course by Emilysculpts.  She suggests to use smooth on brand smooth cast 305(white) or 326(clear).  It seems like a great product so far, as I'm not using a pressure pot to cure them it, they do get bubbles.  Still learning too and trying to get rid of imperfections.  It's ALOT of fun making moods and then making copies of them!

VERY exciting!! :D Thank you for the tip!! They look amazing to me, I think I'm gonna have to accept some bubbles too, since I'm not using a pressure pot either! I'll just mix in lots of sprinkles and glitter and hope it looks nice anyway! ;) I can't wait to see what you make next!! I love your dinos! :heart:

They do have flaws though, bubbles in the resin and a defects here and there...  I'm hoping to make some money off these discounted ones so I can purchase a pressure pot to make the casts perfect.

Yup!  Do you have a color in mind?  I have a yellow opal Rex I made last night, just to see how it looks...  and tonight I'll try out the colored blue or pink opal flakes I found over the weekend! 

I have three small children so I have to work around them lol!  Only good painting time I get is during the day when my youngest is napping.

I will definitely be making another blue one, but this time with the opal flakes instead of the chunky glitter.  So we shall see how she turns out!

Thanks!  The glitter has a tendency to sink to the bottom of the mold, so they end up with a lot just settling on their heads and backs, which luckily ends up looking good on the dinosaurs!

Yup!  Beach Comber and northern lights are for sale, and I'm thinking of putting up commission option in my shop.  Just wondering if there would be interest in it!

You have no idea how much I squeaked when I saw these lil' dinosaurs. ;u;
I love the hatchlings as well, they're too precious.

I'd love to see a plesiosaur as they're my favourites but aren't popular enough for merchandise.. Stegosaurus comes as a close second! I'm really excited to see more!

I LOVE EM ALL!!! 8) Oh man I'm glad I came in to see the updates!! :heart: I think the updates look fun and cute, I would think you could still sell them, maybe just make sure to mention the flaws? I assume people would prepare themselves for bubbles like that, when buying handmade resin items!
