Looking good but one small problem even at a low temp the mane and tail will melt or possible catch fire.  You can boil the clay but it does not give a real good cure or you can use a heat gun, or hair dryer or embossing gun to just heat those areas.  Best of luck though.

Also you said matching the color, did you do this by mixing clays or painting?  If painted you can not bake it, there will be a chemical reaction.

Wow that is amazing the one time we did it and we only baked at 250 it was a melted mess with no tinsel.

no i mixed different colored clays.  I have baked almost a dozen ponies and as long as i get the tinsel out and bake it low i have had no problems.  i was worried about the magnet being the first G3 body ive thought about doing this to, but apparently after some research magnets can be baked at a bit over 300 with the only side affect being that they loose magnetivity. i might bump the oven down to 200 or so even lower maybe till i know what happens when the magnet gets hot... but im not too worried... yet...

thanks guys!!! Im kinda sad though the clay is slightly darker now that it has been baked, so he is kinda splotchy... :<  still worth it though
