Coco Berry Problems
« on: June 13, 2012, 09:31:40 AM »
I can't ever seem to find this pony that the head is the same color as the body. Is this a common problem with her? She is one of my favorites. The one I have smells heavenly but she doesn't match and that drives me crazy. Also her hair is very coarse to the touch and not soft. Conditioning it didn't really help. Its not frizzy just really old feeling and makes a crinkle sound when you rub it between your fingers lightly.  Am I expecting too much to find her with a matching head and body? Is there a way to get her body to match her head?

I don't know if it's normal or not, but I have one that is an almost perfect match. The difference in her head and body is only slightly noticeable at certain angles. Her hair, though faded, also feels softish like it should (Though it's frizzy).

Unfortunately, she's been attacked with a highlighter, and her paint has been rubbed, so she's not in very good shape.

I would presume you could ever so slightly fade the body to match the head (Or vice-versa), but I'd be fearful to do so.

My childhood Cocoberry has a blue head with a green body.. and has been like that for as long as I can remember.. her body must have turned not too long after I got her.  Her hair was also frizzy.  I tamed it a little..but it's still not perfect.

I think the head of my Coco Berry is just the tiniest bit yellower than her body.
She is really pretty though, I love her (:

I cant say I was aware of it being a major issue with her in particular if I am honest but over the years I have only ever had a couple pass through my collection so perhaps I was just lucky...but I dont think she is terribly difficult to find without a major colour difference.

You "may" be able fade her head or her body to closer match the other - but in all honesty doing this you run the risk of even a more dramatic difference depending on what has caused the colour change. But if the colour difference is annoying you enough perhaps its a gamble to take.

Her hair sounds as though its has had heat damage if I am honest - that "dry crackle" can be anything from sun or sea exposure to someone being a little too happy with a flat iron.

My Coco Berry has a head/body mismatch going on too, and her mane is thin and dry. She joined my herd like this (thrift store find) so I don't know how she was treated in her previous life. Perhaps she is susceptible to these problems and certain conditions make them develop? Poor girl.

Her hair is still quite pink and I love her anyway, but  :(

I have a few Cocos (thanks to the Army Swap!) and most of them have mismatched heads and bodies  The heads are always darker than the bodies, but it doesn't bother too much to be honest. I'm not sure if sunfading would help at all, but it's probably worth a shot!

Also, I love seeing pictures of everyone's cocos ^_^ I love her!

I don't remember about the colors of mine, but I do know her hair is very coarse and "fried" looking! Like if you hold the hair dryer over hair too long

Yeah, I hadn't noticed it on mine until I actually looked close at her!  But mine too!

Yup, the head and body mismatch is a common problem with Coco Berry. Mine has it too.

hmm *goes to check out her Coco*
I *think* mine is fine. The lighting is weird here what with midnight sun and all, but if there is a difference then it's the body being a tid bit greyish. Nothing that I would notice without eying her really well. I´ll have to check her out tomorrow to be sure :)
