Starshine's Symbol... What's Up??
« on: February 28, 2012, 07:40:19 PM »
So... I got this Starshine in my big Craigslist lot over the weekend and immediately noticed her symbol is a bit off.  Its on both sides... I have no idea what it could be.  When I washed her down with a magic eraser tonight, it didn't do anything to the symbols... the dots were orange when I got her. Any ideas?

The glitter has rusted. It's very common for Starshine unfortinately :(

Looks like water droplets? I know glitter sometimes contains metals, and I have heard of symbols "rusting" (Pinwheel is prone to this!)

It might be a chemical reaction to the plasticizer leaking out and mixing with the glitter. Or just an aging process with the plastic and glitter.

I've seen a lot of ponies with this. Sunlight, Starshine and all of the 2nd set seem to be prone to this!
Thanks to calico star for my avatar!

Thank you both! I haven't seen this before so I was very confused with her.  Now I know!
