"Rehabbing" G1 questions/advice needed - pics
« on: January 23, 2013, 11:07:28 AM »
So awhile ago I bought a lot of 'bait' ponies on ebay.  They didn't look anything like bait except for some crazy hair.  In the lot were 4 Sundances.  3 of them have minor marks and was looking for any suggestions for fading/removing these marks.  The one I'm currently working on had a small pink spot on her face and some odd faint brown staining, almost like a tea stain?  I was contemplating sun fading, but I'd welcome all suggestions.  I've already done a baking soda scrub, warm water soak, and general cleaning with antibacterial soap.  And I wasn't sure where to put this, so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place!  Thanks all!

She displays nicely.

Aww she's so pretty! With marks like that, which are basically stained into her plastic, sunfading is usually the only way to deal with it, other than attempting to paint over it, which would probably end up standing out even more. =P

Bruising like this is normally age marks unfortunately - however just in case they are not, I think as PinkRosedust suggests the best idea is to give sun fading a try. With age marks you do want to make sure that the UV doesn't aggravate it and cause the pony to burn but as long as you monitor her and make sure the marks never even remotely darken hopefully you will be ok.

I cant wait to see the results! Good luck!

Thanks!  I'll probably have to wait until this spring/summer.  Not a whole lot of sun here at the moment! :cold:
