Pony Corral / Re: What Happened to Dream Valley?

Wow....thanks everyone for so many responses and memories! :)  This is all very interesting to learn.

I remember Kim Shriner as being somewhat of an enigmatic presence in the MLP collecting world; although she had her site, I don't recall that she was active on the MLPTP or Ebay or anything that passed for social networking back in those days.  All that was ever known of her was that she lived in New Jersey, which made her all the more fascinating to me, since I grew up / lived in New Jersey myself back then.  No picture of her ever surfaced to the best of my knowledge.

I also remember being CERTAIN that a Li'l Litters commercial existed on her site, but then when I went to find it again years later, it was gone, and she insisted it had never been there.  So strange.

Pony Corral / What Happened to Dream Valley?
« on: March 27, 2023, 08:12:46 PM »
I've been meaning to ask this question for quite some time...

I began online collecting adventures in 1999, when Dream Valley was the #1 guide on the Internet for G1 MLP.  I sustained itself as the top hit on Google for "My Little Pony" for years, and in the hayday of the MLPTP, everyone used its images for referencing and wish lists.

I was out of the collecting realm roughly from 2006-2013.  And at some point, Dream Valley had just vanished!  I know that sometimes, web developers just don't want to maintain their sites anymore, but I can't help but wonder if there was more backstory to this?? I remember the site owner as having an entire network of her own websites, in what could almost be considered "ahead of her time" fashion.

Does anyone know anything further about its disappearance?

Pony Corral / Re: Resin Moulds & Hasbro Design Patents

At least one person is already doing this (Clipper) so while I’m not personally sure, it would seem hasbro hasn’t been bothered enough by it to take action? Or perhaps removing the hasbro mark puts reproductions into a gray area because hasbro has always been fine with the customizing community, as far as I know.

Who is Clipper - how can I contact her? :) Is s/he here on the forum, and/or HQG1C?

Pony Corral / Resin Moulds & Hasbro Design Patents
« on: November 14, 2021, 05:13:37 PM »
Hi pony friends!

Quick question: I'm interested in getting into resin crafting, because I love things like custom Li'l Litters babies and custom Petite Ponies.  I've seen resin artists producing these for sale, and am interested in creating some of my own - sales, TBD! :)

However, my only concern is whether or not commercial reproduction of Hasbro's design violates any design patents?? Or, have their patents on these early 90s toys long since expired?

I guess I'm hoping there may be a MLP fan here who is also a laywer :)

Pony Corral / Anniversary Series - Still Ongoing?
« on: August 26, 2021, 03:29:36 PM »
Hi everyone!  I've been out of the collecting loop for a while lately...just been busy  :)  Is the Hasbro 20th anniversary series still ongoing?  I've been ever hopeful to see new Petite Ponies or Li'l Litters come out...they were definitely 1991 and that means 20 years now  Has anyone heard a buzz about what may be coming out of their pipeline?

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Motherlode of Italian Stamper Petite Ponies Acquired!

I've been looking for them since roughly 2001 or 2002, lol!  I discovered them way back when Silvedawn's "Petite Pocket" site was THE source on Petite Ponies.  I drooled over them ever since!

The seller has now put more MOC sets of these on Ebay, and they show up on the US site now.  I found them initially on Ebay.it, and struggled to log in via the US site and find them again - they just didn't wat to show up for US buyers, even though the auction was open to worldwide customers.

I'd rather not disclose what I paid, but it was **NOT** what the raw math would add up to based on her current listing prices!!!!!!!    She was a great seller who worked with me the whole way through our transaction.  So if anyone else wants a grail item for their Petite collection and has trouble finding the new listings, I'd be happy to help you locate them!

My whole toy collection is displayed inside light-blocking shelves in my home office.  I generally keep the doors closed, but whenever I need a smile, I can just open up all the doors and take them all in! :)
