Title: Guess what! I'm STILL writing. Part 4 released.
Post by: Echo_Shell on January 19, 2012, 08:36:10 AM
Production difficulties delayed the release and the Arena swap-over further delayed announcement thereof, but here it is.  Heroes of a Silent God Part 4 - Demon World.

This volume dives further into Zannis past and his connection to the silver-furred nekomata, Kasha.  Lovers of furry-style art and fiction are encouraged to give this series a try.  Likewise those interested in general fantasy and demons of east-Asian origin.

Oh my, I didn't realize 2 and 3 were out already!  If I buy them on my Kindle, do you get any money from it?

Thanks, Zenna!  I was hoping you would.  And yeah, I get like $0.35.  Doesn't sound like much but its a decent percentage given the price.

That's not a bad percentage at all  :)  Though it would also be nice to have hard copies to go with my volume 1, I like to keep books together like that  :P  Do you have any sitting around so I can buy directly from you?  I'd like you to get as much profit from your own books as possible  :)

I can order one from Createspace and send it to you, but if you're trying to pad my pocket it'd be easier to just buy it from the createspace estore provided.  That'd keep shipping costs from doubling up.  The amazon.com listing gives me a much lower royalty rate - not sure why.

Thanks, Zenna!  You're still my first fan and I'm grateful for your support.

There are ten volumes, but volume five has two "phases" (narrator shifts) so I'm not sure how the final numbering will work out.  Currently they're split into separate volumes, but each is labeled as part of volume five.

I can't help but think of Hitchhikers Guide.... the 6-part "trilogy" :P

It was accidental.  I had intended all parts to have one narrator, but the story took a turn that I hadn't planned on and I just went with it.  Later volumes have as many as three narrators with their own "Phase."

That sounds exciting. I need to get a hold of your books.

I think it's good to follow the book where it goes, instead of forcing it to stick to your original plan, even if it's not working. I've read some where the narration does feel off, like it's not the right person telling the story. Makes the whole flow of the book feel awkward.

I've had many a project lead in it's own direction, and it usually works out for the best.

It's just a more enjoyable way to write.  Perhaps I should consider it a weakness as a writer, but to force a character to act out of character is just taboo and when I find that I have done so, I cannot progress much farther before I am unable to write - unable to carry the story on until this error has been addressed.
