This is Lieutenant Monocle. He's one of the Prussian Officer Ponies,  an incredibly unpopular German exclusive set commonly known as "Piefke-Ponys" over at zora's side of the border. He's a snotty little pony whose hobbies include playing skat with his jolly sidekick, Willy the Bushwoolie.

I've got the unpleasant feeling of having combined two things that should not have been brought together, but I had to get this pony out of my head. While he's not necessarily contest winner material, this sure was a great excuse to paint him. I've been toying with the idea of a set of custom Prussian Lieutenant Pony Wear, but I'm not exactly a needlework person so that will have to wait.

By the way, Lt. Monocle has a coral forelock, the color of Cherries Jubilee's hair. Also, Bushwoolies are harder to draw than one would think.

I don't think so, that would be because I'm more knowledgeable than average on all things Imperial German. I'm so happy to hear he is being loved, I'm always a bit scared of posting my crazy ideas.

how did you draw him? with watercolor (aquarel)? i dont know much about traditional painting

Yep, watercolors on smooth (hot pressed) Arches paper, the outlines are watercolor pencil.
